There are some differences between L2 and Aion.  The first being the lore.  Instead of multiple races and being a cliche fantasy RPG, Aion takes the roll of more of a heaven vs hell aspect.  Sort of interesting, but to tell the truth, korean game productions aren't known for their imagination so the lore is expected to be less than average.

Secondly, thats "new" is combos, previously done by a few other mmorpgs and countless single player games.  These seem to act the same way as a rogue does in World of Warcraft.  Built up points to use a finisher.

Then there are the graphics, yes fascinating.  Don't get me wrong, graphics are a wonderful thing, but theres a limit on what kind of graphics are actually playable by everyone, and its not something that should be able to limit people by that, infact this game gives me the impression that they are only attracting attention is that they boast their graphics engine.  Seems to me like an Age of Conan... Has anyone ever played Age of Conan? I have. It's a piece of crap with diamonds on the surface to sway people away from what it actually is.  (Translation for the idiot that said my mom said he was nothing special, yes, I noticed, good job flaming yourself): Too much graphics that actually limits graphic cards so much that only the newest computers could actually handle it, and the gameplay was so repetitive that it was unbearable, take away the graphics and it was just a horrible game.  And for those people who thinks Aion will be able to be played for 4 years ago of graphics, don't forget the RAM and the CPU needed to run those graphic cards smoothly.  My guess is at least 2 sticks of ram and a 3 GHz processor.

I guess the only trademark that I see is wings, aerial combat, etc.  Seems fun.  But.... the lowest level to get wings is lvl 10.  Seems to me that instead of basing the wings as a reward, they are trying to base everything around the wings.  I mean really, who would take running over wings?  So everyone has wings, seems to me they look all the same, but that will prolly change.  I don't see anything that interests me that will make my view change, I just see a mediocre game.

      A. It's not Heaven vs Hell, it's two halves of a split planet fighting one another for power.

      B. Yes this game has high end graphics, however there is a lower setting for the game so that it can be run on lower end computers. The developers of have both explained and shown this many times.

      C. Your fear of the developers concentrating on visuals more than gameplay and content is unjustified. Had you bothered to even check with beta testers or watch any of the CBT3 videos you might know this.

      D. The wings will not replace walking/running. Why? Because there is a time limit for how long you can use those wings; a short time limit. Exception being in the abyss. I had thought everyone would have known this by now.

      E. The lore is heavy. The beta testers will vouch for that. You can also tell by looking at the in game cinemas, that the storylines and plotlines is that which would rival FFXI.

      F. Your right in the sense that alot of the of the things in Aion have been done before. However to expect a completely original MMO to have no familiar systems or content from previous games is somewhat ridiculous. The thing about Aion is that they are taking all the things people like within an MMO game and improving them.

Anywhay, in the end play what you want. Have fun.

      - character design (including armors, weapon designs)

      - gameplay looks better in videos and much smoother then in WAR

      - flying and flying combat in different situations

      - siege machines and npcs you use/hire/grow (not sure if WAR has any didnt find anything)

      - nicer pets
