As a director of a small software company that builds data management systems for small to medium companies I can readily understand the frustrating longevity of developement cycles but 8 years does seem an inordinately long time to develope a game. However, I have no experience on game developement cycles and one would imagine they can be tough as the market is constantly changing from the users point of view and the technology available.
It would be a coup for Darfall to launch and succeed, and whether you like it or not it would be a great signpost that a small developement house can do it.

The best thing that could happen for every one is that WAR and WoW battle it out, it will make both games better.

Yeah good luck living in the ghost world town known as WoW. when you graduate WoW university, feel free to hop into WAR! :P see you there!
Good grief, where did that come from? Someone asks a simple question a this child throws a pointless and incorrect point into the topic. And no, I am not a wow fanboi, I will be playing War as soon as it comes out, but to think that that it will make a noticeable difference to the wow servers is rather laughable
Why would anyone want to pay over the market rate for a game? By doing just damages the market as costs rise and those that are on the cusp of being able to afford playing the game might have to drop out.
For me I would only ever pay the usual $15.
Darkfall does look interetsing but all the bad media has kind of put me off watching the developement. Once I see something concrete, i.e. from the gaming industry or gaming media I will far more happy to join in on the hype

Thats one thing that we can look at and see, and I agree, their stock is falling, more than comfort would allow, which doesn't give too much hope at the moment.
