I've thought about this again and realised.. that I have paid for the CE pre-order. The headstart bonuses, items etc that come with the CE pre-order pack I would assume, cost more than the SE pre-order pack?
I dont know on that one.. but obviously If I had to go for the SE, then I'd lose the £10 - but still have the bonuses.. that is if I can enter the SE codes.. and I dug this up:
www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php
IainC_Goa:
"This is true. If you have a CE pre-order pack and for any reason don't get hold of a CE retail box, you will be able to validate your account with an SE retail key and all your pre-order bonus codes will still be valid."
Good, I can play my headstart character without worrying too much..
All im concerned about now is GOA's ability to handle the servers.. ![]()
Just when we thought nothing could get worse.. this is simply unbelieveable. Yet, I do believe it.

We need to show the world that it’s not just Blizzard who can make a great game, and that the audience is absolutely willing to try new things and to play a game other than ‘WoW.’”
See, I don't really like what he's implying with this statement. It seems to me that he is trying to subtly shift the blame for failed mmorpgs to the players.
Let me paraphrase the part that gets to me:
"show the world that the audience is willing to try new things and to play a game other than "Wow'".
I think it goes without saying that the audience, mmoprg gamers, are willing to try new things. In fact, I'd say that quite a lot of us are verging on desperation for something new.
I think you misread what he is saying.
If WAR succeeds and steals a whole bunch of subscribers.. it will prove to everyone that the MMORPG gaming community is willing to try something different.
Mark thinks as you and I do and believes that many people are after something fresh.
If WAR fails to garner much interest.. then it is due to one of 2 causes:
a) Players are not willing to try new games
b) The game is terrible.
You, me and Mark know that a) is simply not true.. but not everyone is aware of that fact.

I think it's funny how one could say that A game has no good points, when I can see so many. The ground breaking graphics for instance. Now, call me immature, but the selling point of the game for me was the boobies. Heck, after a long day at work, what do I want to do when I get home, why hack off a couple of heads completely shirtless and watch my goods bounce whilst doing it.
As far as GM help, I don't perticually care for any myself, you have to concider that Funcom isn't a wallmart that you can just simply demand to see the general manager and wave your angry finger at him. They have better things to do, like patching out a great game. If you took the time to concider that just maybe the game has a few more scripts than lets say, WOW, then you could understand why it takes a little longer. It's common sense people.
People say the games random and boring? I just hit level 60 yesterday, and the content has never been more exciting for me. The story line truly intrigues me, and the voice acting is charming.
As far as the game crashing? Sure it will every once in a while, so does, COD4, so does Guild wars, so does every game I play. It's a fact of life, and one has to stop and concider that maybe their computer isn't up to spec if your having a major issue with it.
Umm.. you'd better add /sarcasm or people might think you were being serious!

Well the answer seems obvious when put like that.
I'm expecting HMV to mess this up. I wont be able to collect on release day.. so.. I guess I wont invest too much into my headstart chars. ..and of course get the best discount I can if they can only offer me the SE. :)
As far as I understand, there is some sort of grace period after the release date to give you time to pick up your copy and enter the relevant codes.
Yes, which is fine. Not a problem.
Im worried that someone without a pre-order will walk away with my CE because it was put on the shelf to sell.
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
