| Biography | I guess this is where I put my "Gaming history". Best MMO on the net? EVE in my opinion, though if I could go back in time I''d pick SWG just after JTL was released but just before CU hit. |

In pvp it can be very much like mechwarrior pvp, it all starts with your ship and its load out and then it comes down to teamwork and having a plan with some finer points of ship management and control along with situational awareness. Its very much like playing RTS games just ignore the people who claim its just pushing buttons and watch what happens as they most likely fail at EVE pvp.
Erm except that in MechWarrior terrain affects your defense/offense/accuracy/etc. In EVE nothing affects combat other than slamming into something by accident when trying to go fast. You can't dodge behind something to avoid enemy fire like you can in mechwarrior, etc.
If EVE actually had collision detection on asteroids, stations, ships, etc (for purposes of weapons fire, which it doesn't) it would be much more interesting.
LOL
Just watched this...
Absolutely priceless... also, if all you ever do is play the 14 day trial and never join a player corp (like he did) he's spot on. But that misses 99% of the point of EVE :)
The world got a little bit darker just now.... a truly kind and generous soul has passed.
Wish her family all the best, very sad that her light in the cosmos was dimmed far far too soon.
Welcome to EVE :) Many Many Many of us wish we had stuck with EVE from day 1 :(
I myself chose SWG over EVE at release... I was in both the EVE and the SWG beta and liked SWG better at release... (and had the NGE never happened would still be there) and now regularly kick myself for that decision.
No...
If it's necessary to purchase in-game money with REAL money then the game isn't worth playing.
And, on the flip... even if it's POSSIBLE to buy in-game money with real money that is such a HUGE waste of money that it's not even amusing. MMO's are already overpriced (at $15/mo) There is no way in hell I'd pay real $$$ for in game money, no matter how good the game was.
Hell in EVE I actually use in-game money so that I don't have to pay my monthly subscription. I just buy game time codes with isk from the idiots who seem to have a burning need to get in game money with real money. Funny thing is those folks die just fine to my guns even with their added 'income' from buying isk from me, and other players, via selling game time codes for isk.
But back to the OP:
No, I would never even consider buying items or money, in a game, for real money. I don't even like paying subscription fees if I can avoid it.
