    Eligibility to purchase entry to Hyboria a few days before launch is no longer available, as the optional Early Access download is now sold out.

     

    I'm glad they went through this action, to at least be consistent going forward. However, it doesn't help anyone who had already ordered a pre-order but hadn't been able to activate yet.

    3-Day Early Access Program

    With your pre-order of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, you will be able to participate in the 3-day Early Access Program. Early access period starts on May 17, 3 days before the commercial release on May 20, 2008. You may begin downloading the game client files and installing as early as May 14. With early access, there is a nominal fee of $5 payable online when you download the client, which covers the cost of the download and includes 10 days of additional game time.

     

    I see NO mention of any limit on the number of people who can download the client and join the early release. In fact, it clearly says, "If you pre-order, you WILL be able to participate....".

     

    This is a load of crap. Sorry for replying to myself :).

  • I'm annoyed about this situation. I did not get invited to the beta, so I was waiting for some feedback from the community on how certain parts of the game work. Having read a lot of information, I felt AoC was worth a try and pre-ordered last night.

     

    I got in late last night, and registered my pre-order code this morning, assuming that it would be fine since the downloading was supposed to START being available today. I had no idea that they would cut off the number of people who could join the early start would be cut off on the very day the download started... they should have at least waited until the day before the early start would happen.

     

    There were still a TON of pre-order boxes available at the Best Buy I went to, so anyone else who pre-orders now will not have the opportunity to join the early launch - and I guarrantee no sticker will be placed on the boxes or websites to the contrary.

     

    Strike one against AoC and Funcom.

  • If I remember correctly (and I rarely do), I thought the final Elven class was supposed to be officially announced in the April newsletter. Did I miss it somewhere? Or was this information not provided?

    I'm eagerly awaiting this information to work with a few friends on conceptualizing our classes and party for launch.

    Any response is greatly appreciated!
