    • Yeah!  I got...finally!  Thanks guys for the help...it really DOES help to back away from the problem and come back to deal with it at a later time!  It turned out to be my Accelerator.  I live so far out in the country we don't have anything but dial-up.  Well, unless I want to pay out a small fortune for internet services, anyway.

       

      So thanks again for the help.  See you in game....

      Now, I've just got to figure out the best server for me!  :P hehehe

    • Hey guys...I stepped out with my hubby for a bit this evening and that really helped to calm me down...Thanks for everyones advice and again, I'm sorry about the rant...was just feeling more than a bit upset.  Although I'm still unable to log into the game...can't figure it out and I'm not comp savy at all!  :D

      Also, I'm running Win XP.  This comp is a new gaming computer so I'm not sure of everything on it yet.  I do know that I have  Windows Security, of course.  I also have a pop up blocker, which is now turned off. And I have something called Phishing Filter.  If any of this helps.

       

      No, I've not checked the Offical Boards yet...I've been dealing with Tech Support all afternoon and into the evening...But I'll do that asap. 

       

      Thanks for helping me out guys.  I look forward to getting some more replies.

    • With all the trouble I'm having getting logged into this game...(I've YET to play AT ALL) I'm beginning to think it's not worth playing!  Grrr...which really upsets me because I was really looking forward to playing it!  Anyway, here's the message I get when I try to log in to the game...and yes, I know that all info is correct...log in name, password...all that.

       

       

      The following web error occured while trying to access
      "https://gls.lotro.com/GLS.AuthServer/Service.asmx":

      The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.

       

       

      Anyone else having this trouble?  I've contacted Tech Support and done what told me to do...which was makes SURE lotroclient.exe and turbindlauncer.exe were listed in the allow list of my firewall.  STILL was not able to log in. 

      Man, this is the hardest time I've EVER had trying to play a game! 

      Sorry for the rant...I have every intent of getting this worked out and enjoying this game for a long time.

    • Problems Signing up for an Account
    • OK...here's the deal...I've done everything I know to do to get an account going for this game!  I've loaded all my info into the correct fields...I've checked and recheaked SEVERAL times and the page will NOT give me the "Submit" button!  I know my product key is good...(Came sealed from the factory) I've got no problems getting to the third page of the account reg.  This is where things go sour!  I put in ALL info in...Product Key, choice of user name...personal info...and still it doesn't give me the Submit button...it's silver and will NOT turn yellow!  I've changed my "user name" choice several times to make sure that that was not the problem.  I'm at my end with it!

      I've turned off every pop-up blocker, anti-this and anti-that that I've got.  I don't know what else to do.  I still can't get an account going!  Anyone have ANY clues?  My product key is valid because I can get past the first page...and the second where it ask if you have an account...I click NO...but on page 3....it's a no go! 

      Sorry...just a bit PO'ed after an hour and a half TRYING to get an account going...don't mean to sound harsh.

    • Thank you for the honest answer.....that's what I was looking for.  Now that I know how bad I was ripped off, I'll learn to build one so that I can do my own from now on.
