Yes, you can use the current client to continue post launch. It will patch into the accurate version.
as for your bestbuy, perhaps call them up and ask them if they will be keeping reserved copies behin the counter for people to pick up. The actual "Launch Date" is the 18th. I would suggest you go in on the 18th. As there were a limited number produced, there will only be a limited amount shipped to your local store. You could request them to hold yours behind the counter also. My local store is good about that sort of thing. "Hey, I am working all day and won't be able to pick up my copy until late evening. Can someone be sure to hold my copy at the customer service counter so it does not get picked up by accident" simple enough.

Jeeash Tester, it was an honest question, I really did want to know what I was missing.
I'm thinking someone needs a nap. Tell your mom to hold off on your afternoon cookies and settle down on your basement cot and get some rest.
Note: Lumache, I checked that stock link, man, talk about a dive! Wow! But again, why? FC says they have 400k+ subscibers, thats a ton! So why the stock plunge?
The answer for that is actually rather simple. I am speaking as someone who wanted AoC to succeed and always wished them the best, though I did not play AoC. I will prface my statement with that. I am no expert in the game. I do read the news and follow stocks and business however. Now, that in mind... look at your statement and you need go no further than two words "Funcom says" and you have your answer. If you look at the history of the FACTS that have been seen in stock sheets, as well as reports by game shops who are returning the 800k boxes funcom shipped, compare it against what "Funcom says."
After very little research (Or go as deep as you wish) you will see that FUNCOM is a very crooked company with an EXCELLENT Marketing team. They can put a positive spin and a steaming pile of crap and convince people it will turn into a AAA MMO if you give them time to put some patches on it. The problem with AoC is NOT AoC. It was a brilliant idea. Some wonderful concepts and even at launch had a lot of great potential (Though I did not play it, two of my sons did for quite a while so I do have SOME knowledge of its progress and shortcomings) The problem with AoC can be summed up with one word. Funcom. They are a deceitful company with a bad history. It kept a lot of people away, and as others opened their eyes they left the game. I would have LOVED to play AoC... if it panned out. I will not, and can not in good conscience give any money to Funcom however, so I won't. I would go so far to say I would pick up a box and check it out if Sony, EA, or one of the other "Devils of the business" picked it up. Though they have their issues, they are no Funcom.
SOOOO, there you have it. Most of what I have above is fact, some of it is opinion. Take it for what you will. It is the lies by Funcom.

I love the human starter area but sadly, Ill never be a tank for them or even the entire Order side for that matter. It seems the only true tank class for the Order side is the Dwarf Iron breaker (and there not even that good). Whenever I go head to head with a Dwarvian Ironbreaker with my Chosen of the same level or even one or two lvls higher, I always win. Never lost against another tank.
The other "tank" class for Order is the sword dancers. That's not a tank. I take them out just as fast as I take out Bright Wizards.
I think the Order side needs another tank. Just my opinion tho
Funny, when I play my Ironbreaker toe to toe with any class of equal level, I win. You must just be playing against crappy players. For that matter, when I play an ironbreaker, I must always be playing against crappy players because I always win. Just because you win against a certain class all the time it is not a testament of the class not being good, so much as the person behind the toon not being so great.
this game is not balanced around 1v1's.
Totally agree and understand that. That is a concept I have stressed to people with little effect. Heh People will still find a way to complain about imbalance, and things being overpowered/underpowered.
Okay, so lets say they have several servers. Sever A you create a dwarf. From then on, you can not create ANY character for destruction on Server A. If you want to play Destro, you make a character on Server B. Other peopl ill have their Order on server B and you go to war with them. Now say 500 people are logged on to their Order characters. 2000 can not log on their Destro, because the server caps out and maintains a balance so on th server, there are near equal amounts of people fr each side. That does not meanyou are all the same LEVEL, but it is a mean to help balance the combat so no one is outnumbered and gets torn apart all the time by imbalance. See?
No, accounts are not locked. You are locked based on server. When you make a character on destruction on a server, all future characters on that server must be Order. If you want to play destruction, simply make a character on a different server. MOST people I have talked to are planning a Destruction server and an Order server with their friends.
Aside from questing, what do you spend most of your time doing in-game?
