4th edition right now.
I thought I was done with pen and paper. I played more 3.0 and 3.5 than anything else. With all the books that came out we had people power gaming crazy characters along side of people playing simple less powerful builds. There always seemed to be arguments and I just got sick of not having fun.
Then I played a 4th edition “npc” fighter for a party that was short a player. I had a blast. I liked how the encounter monsters were set up. I liked how fighters had abilities that made the class as interesting as a wizard or a cleric.
It seems to be a pretty simple game compared to other versions, and what TheFranchise wrote about character customization seems to be true. There is two almost pre-made versions of each class you can make. Not a lot of feats and things to choose from.
I adopted the character and have played 3 sessions so far. Maybe I’m enjoying it just because its new, but I am enjoying the system.

What else would you as a customer demand at this point ?
A beta?
Aventurine lets the professionals do the boring and fustrating bughunting, leaving you to try out the finished game.
...
I can also TOTALLY see how paying for all these "professionals" (sarcasm aside, if they really DID have pros...you can bet the cost is A TON higher than what I am alluding to here) is completely cost effective and possible for such a small, indie company who has been so broke and pressed for time that they could neither run a simple fraps while playing, or pay someone on the street 5 bucks to hold a &%$#ing camera while they did so.
...
I hope everyone following this game reads what Gishgeron just said. How can people defend an internal beta that is intensive enough that they don't need the public to help, and at the same time say there is too much work to spend time on a video? Can't people see that there is something fishy there?

There's a video coming out, most probably next week, or shortly after.
Is there some strange reason as to why this video was not released in the first week of August rather than waiting to the very last minute of the month to relase it or possibly not even releasing it this month at all?
It doesnt take more than a full day to edit a video.
You act like the only thing they ahve to do all day is make a video.... Get a clue... Ever work on a large project? Their are tons and tons of things that need to be check, recheck and then check again, then if something is wrong, it needs to be re worked...
You nor I have any idea what they spend all day doing, stop talking out of your ass for once and use some common sense... The video is not the only thing they are working on.
Lets use some common sense, shall we... Feature complete means the game is done, they are currently testing the game... meaning when they find a bug, the programmers have to go back in and find the problem, fix the problem, then everyone has to re patch and the testing starts again... That is how it works in simple terms.
So to say it takes less then a day to edit a video is true but you do not know how much time they have to spend on the video which is not high on their list but since you dont know how to use common sense you keep on hating blindly.
If they have any idea how to run a business it sure as hell better be high on their list.
Everyone understands that mmo’s take a tremendous amount of work to create.
Tasos needs to pull a couple of guys off whatever they are doing and tell them to make a freaking video.
That’s not about programming or producing an mmo, it’s about running any kind of business. If you tell your potential customers you are going to do something you better do what you can to make it happen.
Tasos needs to learn to stop making promises. Why can’t he figure this out? Don’t do beta sign ups until you are ready for beta. Don’t say you are going to have a video out unless you have a video ready or the time to create one. Don’t say you are going to release a game by the end of the year when you don’t know it will ready by then. How many times can he make the same god damn mistake? He can’t be as stupid as he is making himself look.
I hope for their sake one of the new hires is someone who knows about PR. They really need someone who can tell Tasos to stfu and can deal with the public like a company that actually wants to have customers and make money someday.
I’m surprise at the significance people are putting on this video.
I get how people can still be interested in this game. They’re doing something in Greece, I doubt they are sitting around playing checkers.
I also get how people don’t believe this game will come out or that it won’t be the game advertised. People following this game have been given the run around a few times and Aventurine has made some pretty unbelievable claims.
What I don’t understand is why people don’t see this upcoming video as the same old thing. Maybe it will be late (if it’s not considered late already) or maybe it won’t. When it comes out, some people are going to be impressed and some people wont.
Why did people decide this is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back? Seems like an odd breaking point to me. What am I missing?
I think it's pretty obvious really. These pics prove there was a second gunman.
