Apparently you don't read what others post here, well you can go ahead and order it from Amazon and be ripped off by them since NCsoft never annouced a release date. You should go and find some solid info on official website instead of some fake ones.
Please look through all the threads before you make a new one, there was a thread about this already october 30th was posted as the release date by Amazon. That was a fake release date since even Korean version of AION does not officialy have a realese date. Yes Close beta phase 3 was started, but there is no date for Korean OB yet, because there might be CB phase 4 please check the official website at http://www.aiononline.com/us/.

What makes you think grindfest and questing are mutually exclusive? Just because a game makes you finish 1.000 quests instead of 10.000 mobs to reach max level doesnt make it less of a grind.
Not saying that is how Aion will be like, just saying that questing and grinding does not have to be mutually exclusive.
Then again, what does grinding mean?
The post you're quoting states that aion gives you the choice to kill mobs or to quest in order to progress. That pretty much goes against what grinding means.
I'd have to agree and those that don't understand the meaning of griding, it means to spend a lot of time just killing mobs none stop on the same spot for like 4 or 5 lvls and then moving on but AION is not about that it's more of a Choice as previously explained and so if you don't know what the game is about or how it runs don't go and asume something which is not true.

"Hell yeah, thats exactly what I said. It has the looks of FFXI with the Dynamics of World of Warcraft. This is why im so interested in this game. I still think FFXI was one of the best looking mmo's i've ever played. And from what I hear Square is in development to make another mmo. Let's hope it's not so friggin insanely difficult like FFXI was. Took me 6 months to get to level 55, that's just crazy hard. And don't get me started on Hyper Notorious Monsters."

"The worse thing about FFXI is that you couldn't solo anything. Basically if you didn't have a group, you weren't going to level. I don't like to solo, but sometimes it's just hard to find a group, so it's nice to be able to solo grind while you wait for a party. In FFXI it wasn't possible."
You both are wrong, yes FFXI was one of the best mmorpg's out there at time, but it was possible to solo no matter what class you were except a healing class, that is if you knew how to play and lvling wasn't that hard. You could solo until lvl 18 easy. I had a human warrior class which I transfered into paladin job class and lvled to lvl 42 in about a month, I had very good and active guild and got help with quest from other good ppl that played this game when it just came out. Also AION doesn't look anything like WoW yes it may have some concept of FFXI but nothing of WoW, graphicwise and gameplaywise this game is more advanced than WoW, especially since it's going to have full enviroment interaction. So yea this game will be one of the best mmorpg's when it comes out.

I was looking at amazon and noticed that its selling Aion Online, on the 30th this month.
Does anyone else know about this?
You should read the release date correctly on amazon website first it isn't this month it say 10/30/08 and second there is no official release date for AION yet so they just made it up anyway. Don't believe websites until there's an official release date from official website.
Which console would you like to see MMOs released for?
