    • So long and thanks for the fish
    • Well it's been an interesting few months for me, a social experiment if you will. With the help of my dedicated friends I was able to take a barbarian population that was almost nonexistent to something awesome. We've had our ups and our downs, but I'd say it was certainly worth the while despite the end result.

This sure was a surprise, checking in the forums from during my vacation. But then again, can't say I didn't see it coming. It's like committing thoughtcrime; they'll get you in the end ;)

I deleted grass files on numerous occasions to raise my FPS. I can't fight with 10-15 FPS, and fighting is all I do.

I deleted the dung.pack files a few times so I could walk around and pick up green boxes instead of looking for tiny little brown specks on the grass.

I did a few more things that made the game bearable for me to play.

I never interfered with anything connected to direct PvP with another player. Like I previously stated, I lived for the PvP in this game. And to everybody who killed me and who was killed by me they can at least feel secure in the fact that they were legitimate fights.

To everyone in the community I suppose this is my farewell then. I suppose I may see you all with another alias sometime in the future, but nobody will know.

I've had a lot of fun, a hell of a lot of fun with this game. A lot of potential, and great players on both sides despite the numerous arguments we have. I hope that I brought you guys more fun than I did harm, that was one of my major goals while playing. To create a larger population, some interesting RP events, more combat, eventually larger battles we had never seen. I'm still regretting we didn't get to have that 30 person battle on the Trino board because of the lag, and that'll probably be the last chance for that any of us have.

I'm confident that I've done a good thing for this game as a whole, and I'm happy with that. Maybe if somebody could post some pics of the fires I've been hearing about on the MMORPG forums that would be great, nice to know we went out with a bang. I'll also post this on those forums because I don't know how long it'll last here.

To the remaining barbarians and Trinovantes friends of mine, keep yer sticks on the ice ;)

So long, and thanks for the meat_fish.

    • Looks like things are looking up over here...
    • Well there's no point in trying to convince this troll that he's wrong, just hopefully people here can see the truth through all of the crap that clutters these forums.

For a time I'd say it was justified, but definitely not anymore. The game has improved so much I'm simply amazed, and for the past little while changes and new content have been added quite regularly. This is not the game that was around at release, 1 year ago, or even 6 months ago. It's much better ;)

    • The game is in the best shape I've seen for as long as I've been playing. Many of the technical issues that plagued release are now gone, and the game is mostly stable.

With all of the new features and mechanics added the game is completely different than it was at launch. And now population has increased to a very high level, I would say near being on par with what it was during the BE.

Many settlements have stable populations if you go find them, and there is a lot of PvP going on now between barbarians and romans. With full loot and now new axes implemented, RV is also no longer a game where you see naked spear wielding warriors going into fight. We look cool now

Now I know that some people like this Jaguar guy here have a personal grudge against the game for some reason. I'll never really understand that, and I'll just say all of these trolls who bring completely irrelevant and untrue information to these forums are just giant douches.

RV is in a great state right now. I'd recommend old players to return, and new ones to sign up. If you want a ton of PvP action and excitement you might want to check out the Trinovantes Warband too (barbarians only).
