FunCom aren't fools, they are trying to squeeze out every cent they can out of each customer, they know they won't be getting many long term subscribers. The only upside could be that Gaute Godager never helms another MMO development.
Agreed. One thing I can give to Brad McQuaid is that in the end he was apologetic for the outcome of VG. Guatte's smugness about his awesome launch and the 700,000 boxes sold, while the player base screams bloody murder on the forums really pisses me off.
Brad had very low budget for VG in compare to AoC. VG was suddently cut off from money, which is obviously a different reason why it was released early. In addition Funcom pretends everything is fine with AoC.
If Im not very much mistaken, the VG budget was into 30 milion US, which is anything but low.

Lol, I hear that m8 :)

I am always amazed over how so many "gloss" over the whole sentence, and pick the one part they wish to use.
Oh you dont say mr Openedge1 ;)
(double irony ftw)
QFT!
GW is hardcore but CAN be played casually /LMAO. This "rule" (chuckles) can be applied to just about any game, let alone MMO.
GW is the king of casual. That doesn't mean its bad but puhlease.
B
Yes, we can apply this to any game
Because AoC is for Hardcore/Casual (oh wait Hardcore have already left)
Because LOTRO is for Hardcore/Casual (oh wait Hardcore already left)
Because Tabula Rasa is for Hardcore/Casual (oh wait Hardcore already left)
Because Hellgate is for...oh wait...everyone left
And now the casuals are even leaving AoC
And WoW, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, etc. continue to dominate with both sides of the tracks...
Why? They are just better games and cater to both crowds.
Errrr, WoW might continue to dominate and that has nothing to do with quality. Britney Spears sold a lot of records FYI. Its really hilarious how you try to lump L2 and GW in with WoW. Sorry to rain on your parade but GW and L2 are not in the same class. L2 has around 700K subs. That's pretty good, but not in WoW's class. GW doesn't have subs because it isn't an MMO and you aren't a "hardcore" gamer just FYI.
How do you know who left? Did someone poll everyone and ask if they were "hardcore" gamers. I play over 100 hours a week and have done since UO. I have been playing Lotro for over a year now. I am in a kin of over 250 people who raid 4 x a week and are very active in PvP. I wouldn't describe us as "hardcore" because that definition is just e-p**n waving. We are dedicated to the game and continue to derive a great deal of enjoyment from it over a year after its inception.

100 hours a week? Shammalammadingdong! thats crazy!
Yah, I play far too much. Even when Im working I usually have the game open. Luckily I work from home :)

Ok avery your dad should really have worn a condom, why should anyone use a non lore compatible name in a no rp server, if you want ppl that have names that are lroe approved go check out the rp servs. Lotro has the best rp in all mmos. And the name you used as an example isnt half as retarded as what you might see in other mmos.
gratz you are one of the rare trolls that wander around the lotro forums.
^ all above is imo
Dont even bother with that guy m8. He's a rabid fanboy. I don't understand why these guys feel the need to come here and bash Lotro. If AoC is so great, then why bother?
Avery : Seriously guy, go play your amazing game and enjoy :)
