i actually totally agree with your assement Pineapples.
I am not really happy aboujt it, but i think most of the major dev houses are stuck in a rut/mind set of levels/grind/quest/etc.
I just do not see the point in ranting and posting about how nothing has changed with this game. I will lurk and see if you and i are wrong (i doubt it), and what hits the servers will interesting enough to pay for both the inital box and then the monthy fees.

Still outraged that the race on the cutting edge of social advancement, free thinking, and feats of engineering (only raced to proved that if you put a big enough warp drive on it even a large brick will fly through spce) is once again dissed and left out as a player race. I swear humans are biased against the noble race of the Gorn's.
okay, now to be serious, I have reservations about this whole everyone is a Captain concept. I did not like it when PE thought is was a great idea, still do not like it even if Cryptic does. Here are my resaons why i am reserved about this:
a. Assuming this game is a massive success, then we will have to suspend our grasp of realism. Cryptic is going with a one big server appraoch. lets assume you have a concurrent player base of 100k at anymoment in a 24 hour cycle, That means that the Klingon Deep Space Navy and the UFP Star Fleet have at the VERY least 100k ship between them! that is a lot of hulls, alot of resources siphoned from each nation/empires economy to build them, let alone maintain them.
b. I still have visions of "LFG, I am a light cruiser with +2561 to repair...i have t3 set bonus too!"
those two are first that still come to mind. I sure more will come to mind soon.
I hope I am wrong here, but for now i will lur4k and watch developments. beats flaming anyone that is positive.
