What I read from the OP is that he is playing an overpopulated faction on an underpopulated server and is wondering why his queue is never up... Hmmm.
It seems like he tied himself down to the wrong server and unless he is willing to try another, I don't think his experience is going to change. And yes, for the OP's choices, we should definitely demand Jacobs' job. ![]()
"In general there are two ways that you earn renown. You earn it from killing enemy players or participating in kills, and you earn it from healing. The renown is gained, whether from killing people or healing people, is shared within your group (a certain split of it) so participating with your group earns you renown. It really is that straightforward."
So essentially in the T2 scenarios (I haven't played any T3 yet), there is absolutely no point in flag capturing or carrying the thing (except for the renown points gained for killing the dude in order to take the thing). Yet, these acts are the keys to winning those scenarios!
Well, at least his comment is consistent with my play experience (no matter how much I disagree with it). I had a half dozen Phoenix Gate scenarios Monday night where I was the only person successful in taking the Destro flag (unaccompanied) and was generally responsible for 250+ points per round. And I consistently placed in the bottom 3 for renown earned.
So I guess I'll let someone else be the team player... just so I can try to catch up with my guildmates who are already a couple of renown ranks higher. Does that seem wrong to anyone? ![]()

next time read the interview before saying such non-argumented things ;)
I'm not speaking for Superstition or anything but...
I, for one, did read the interview and do think the damage has been done.
However, unlike many others -- I would love to be proved wrong. I think that a turnaround would be a good thing for the MMO community in general. The only thing that would concern me about this becoming a success story would be if it somehow made other developers believe they could get away with a similar situation. Let's face it, there's plenty of crappy MMO's on the market and I'd personally rather not see more crap clutter it up and get fixed after. I think AOC's issues were not in launch (which went very smoothly for me and my guild) but in the weeks directly following it. Change after change, nerf after nerf -- this all convinced me that balance and design just didn't meet with the proper testing and/or programming prior to going live. Change A and I'll move on and concentrate on B. Change B and I'll try to salvage things and work on C. Change C so drastically that there isn't really any point in A through C and I'm done messing with things. (substitue in whatever mixture of classes, powers/abilities, crafts you want -- for me it was the repeated gem changes prior to the PvP patch. Yeah, they were pretty unbalancing before but everyone had access to the same. I didn't PvP in AoC so I took that final kick to my boys and canceled.)
AoC might not be so bad to a newcomer who hasn't seen or been through what many of us have. I have great respect for those with the patience to persist with it. I'm just a merchant of doom and AoC's window to impress has passed for me.
The hell with you all. I'm a merchant of doom! (I knew there was a label to describe me somewhere)
Seriously, though -- I do have a couple of friends who still play AoC so I'd love it if Funcom can somehow turn the game around. I wish Morrison & crew the best of luck doing so!

Again, this "overview" is false.
Range is not extended because of elevation.
Stealth is not worse cause of Medium Armor (just not as many bonuses from armor like cloth and light)
Difference between Bow and Xbow is range and damage.
There is not negative to hit or damage using the bow at point blank range. You do not HAVE to use your melee weapons.I PM'd (I think I did it right) Stradden about this and other guides. Hopefully this will be removed as it is ... well wrong... on so many levels.
Your tone seems a bit hostile but the guts of what you're saying matches up a lot more with my ranger play experiences. I *do* think the correspondent program is a great concept but honestly don't see it working well for MMORPG.com. Right now, even the main articles don't consistently get proper review before posting so I'm not sure why the correspondent articles would fare better.
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
