Its a tragic shame really. This game should have been a flagship AAA title, and SOE/Sigil has let a fantastic oppurtunity slip through their fingers. The ORIGINAL concepts were great. Sadly it was brought to extinction by piss poor management and crappy execution. The problem wasn't the scope of the game and the promised features, it was the lack of them at launch combined with bugs, poor optimiziation, and poor performance. It was an unfinished game and still today remains and unfinished game not fit for a release. But that was like so 2 years ago.
Sadly this title never had a chance, it was dead out the door.
Someone broke out his cliche of the day book and gave us a whole weeks worth.

I've seen the vid before and my wf wiz can stealth the same... is that a big deal? Maybe for some but not so much for anyone that knows what they're doing with stealth. Now back before the nerfs, stealth was actually a fun way to solo many of the quests. Even when they made it that you become visible when you opened doors and chests or turned a lever or picked a trap it was still fun having to time out what you were doing against the mobs. But when they made many of the mobs see stealthed (and I'm talking about a high dex/int rogue maxed in move silently and hide) as a cheezy response to many stealth players who abused the ability, that's when the DDO devs ruined the game for those that use stealth as a primary ability.
Now I'm not saying stealth can't be fun now... just that the nerfs hurt the pleasure of playing a stealthy rogue class
One of the reasons I left DDO and have not gone back is I felt the devs took it personally when players completed quests in unusual ways. They spent too much time adjusting quests and skills to limit players instead of spending that time making the rest of the game better. They seem to get to broken quests that do not benefit the players much much later then they do if the bug makes things easier for the players or benefits them.
DDO devs have always seemed to have an Us against Them mentality instead of working with the players who play their game.

I don't trust NCSoft. They could have at least kept one or two servers running for both AA & Tabula Rasa. Now the assets to these games just collect virtual dust on some backup server deep within the bowls of NCSoft. What a waste and such a shame.
TR was never going to make back the initial investment. Keeping a server open would still have cost them money. Why would people continue to pay to play TR if no more development was going to happen? How long would that one server have any population?

I hope the game will get a boost back on the market, mabe bought by a different company.
Hellgate Longon is getting a expansion pack, so why cant TR do the same.
Global Agenda alpha > all
Is'nt hellgate shutting down in North America?
I do not see TR getting sold or anything else, it was a huge financial loser and the last quarter lost like 1/3 of the player base.

So what are your thoughts on NCSoft now that they have shut down their second "AAA" title in our market. Anyone have cold feet about getting into another one of their games?
How long and at what point will they shut down what they currently have? Just how safe is CoX in the western market? How safe in Lineage 2? Both games pops have been on the decline for a while now. NC apparently has no issue pulling the plug once a game no longer meets their expectations. Will GW go the way of AA and TR once GW2 launches and some of the pops migrate over? GW2 is in direct competition with GW as it is an upgrade from what that game did.
How trusting of NCSoft are you TR guys? They gave you a nice package of free game time but will you use it?
Is it worth YOUR time and money to give NC yet another chance?
Or will you go with the motto: "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me a third time, well how much is that bridge anyway?" as not even 2 months ago NC put out that TR wasn't going anywhere.

When GW2 comes out I plan to play that. I do not trust NCSoft less, because I never trusted them when they were saying all was fine with TR. All it took was a look at the quarterly reports to know it was losing money, the only question was how long would they wait.
I would think COX and L2 are fine until they become money losers like TR. TR never met expectations from day 1. Those other games have been are I would think still are making them money, but I do think GW will fade away at some point after GW2 is released. GW people have said they plan to run servers as long as there are people, but you have to expect a lot less service by then.
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
