Why? there are after all over 200,000 players and something like 6 titans in game [each titan is owned by ONE player so that's 6 out of 200,000]. Considering what it takes and costs to build a titan and the number that exist id say they are just fine.
There are far more then 6 titans in game, even at the time you posted. BoB alone has that many titans now. { Mod Edit }
Now look, it's farther down the line and there are titans everywhere. DDD's need reworking. They aren't hard to build anymore.

I'd say that's pretty close to the real subscriber numbers (100k-150k active). Pretty much all of my corp has at least 2 accounts, one person has 8 (I have 2). It's pretty sad EVE is a game that forces you to buy and pay for multiple accounts because only being able to train one character on an account is kinda retarded, but CCP is a company and really only interested in money when it comes down to it so don't expect them to go all soft hearted and ever let you train multiple characters on the same account. They would would take an enormous hit to their wallet if they did because like I said, most people have a second account (or more).
Btw CCP Devs are notorious liars. I highly doubt 80% of EVE players only have 1 account. If they said 80% of EVE had multiple accounts it would make them look bad and make it look like you needed multiple accounts to really play the game (which is true in most cases).
