I run it on a laptop myself, have it set to very high with shadows off and a couple of other things turned off too.
If i were you get the one with 3gig of ram or look for another with 4gig.
I was going to get the one with 3 gigs, but it has a slower processor. Also, the processor bus is under half as slow as the one with 2 gigs, and the RAM is eaiser to upgrade than a processor, so I think I will go with that one.
Also, will EQ2 run ok on Vista?
Gonna buy a laptop for EQ2, and I have about 2 options. I made a topic like this before, but the laptop I put in the other topic is not avaliable to me anymore. The graphics card is a concern, as obviously that needs to be good and I really want to be sure what im getting will be ok. Both come with vista, will that be a problem? Since the minimal requirements say windows xp, and do the recommened. D:

Well, I dont mind turning off some of the stuff in EQ2, as long as I can play it on that laptop without a really low frame rate.
"Everquest 2 is not optimized for multi-core processors at all, which is the main reason super-high-spec quad core processors run the game slower than the fastest single cores."
Are you saying I should change the thing on my laptop for a single core one? Or is a dual core processor fine?

you can run this on your notebook; however, you cannot run EQ2 maxed settings on any current PC or notebook.
Seriously? Not any current PC or laptop? But people always say on forums and stuff like "I ran EQ2 on max settings yesterday, it was well good."
I have decided to save up for a new laptop, since I wont have to do any jiggerypokery inside the comp, and I will be able to play EQ2 wherever!

If you could take a look at that and see if thats ok, that would be great. No-one has posted in there yet :P
I know it would probably make more sense to just get the card for this comp, but I dont trust this thing at all, and I just know something will go wrong which = wasted monies most of the time.
