WHO CARES, WAR online took design choices from WoW, Wow might do the same back. Honestly, who really gives a crap? Play the game you like most.
I like this sort of competition, who ever makes the better game wins. IF they steal ideas from eachother, then that means a better game for everyone.
Honestly though, many of these features being found in wotlk were in development before many knew about WAR and its design choices. Of course, Blizzard adapts, thats sadly why they are successul, if only more companies were like them we would have developers that actually learn from eachother and compete.

The people who are running player quests are having fun. Join them.
I am on one of the most populated servers, and after tier 2, good luck finding anyone actually doing a PQ, much less finish it.
Most of the map is captured by Destruction, and going there just means you cant kill anything with out a full party, neither of which any side bothers with.
This means everyone past tier 2 is in the lava scenario or wandering around aimlessly.

A game that replaces a FULL 3D world you can fly over ...with pure and utterly crappy cut scenes of you being tied to a helicopter is a tribute to the downfall this gaming industry is now known for.
It takes at least 12 months to develop a full 3D world you can fly over, land everywhere you want and adventure in..
It takes 2 days to make a loading cut screen like in WAR.
Yes indeed THAT is about the difference between the vast superior quality some offer compared to the work of amateurs trying to do the “same thing”.
And do NOT enter in this discussion War fan boys, because in about EVERY other aspect of WAR this HUGE ugly gap is showing.
--------------------------------
From complete lacking intelligence in the Mob paths to extreme lacking control functions in PvP combat (yes CC DOES need MORE programming efforts), to complete absence of different (so more costly to develop) class resources (like mana).
This game is a laugh as an MMORPG – a WORLD you live in -
Everything is window dressing in this game. The high mountains are a cheap 2D camouflage to lure you into utterly crap of ‘tunnel vision” progress. A fixed road to just more of the same: bashing some heads of others, stupid enough to play.
Scenarios are a laugh. Some are being played on a post stamp.
The game’s ugliness is a new milestone of that famous new legendary one-liner :
“How to take the money and run with the LEAST effort possible.
Grtz to the intelligence of all people who don’t even notice the most obvious.
This WAR is about the deepest fall in the development of MMO Role Playing Games you can have.
It’s tasteless, boring and has an incredibly bad design (just look at the server caps which will strangle its own populations in two months time), but mostly it is CHEAP in execution.
I wouldn’t even play it if it were offered free. Still a few days left on my cancelled CE tx to GOA, but I can't even log in anymore. I am too spoiled with the approach of real hi quality and polished games.
And I hope for the sake of the industry the annalists ARE right: - 250 K after three months - because that would even be too much honour.
Yep you are correct. WAR is no different than a Unreal tournament like game in which you choose your pvp types of matches, only you are on a ladder and have very basic character progression.
Lets face it though, while WAR is no shining gem, nor is anything above average, it offers some pvp and a distraction. I would rather be distracted by a fun but sub par designed game than nothing at all.
I wish we had better options but at this point we have little to choose from. The industry has been dumbed down since complexity and depth were of a time where it was actually popular to have those features. Now, we have a mixture of businessmen and console kiddies, attracted by the glitter of games like WoW and those f2p asian grinders, who cant stand those qualities that made our genre to begin with.

at best 7.2
the game is slow, boring, the classes are boring theres nothing new. This gam should have been sold in 2003-2004 but not at 2008.
The grafic sucks, new grafic cards are useless because this game even runs on a ATI1950XT in full FPS.
The animations are dull and all classes look like robots.
Again many of us got hyped by the marketing of Mythic. But looking at DAOC, honestly i didnt expect anything that great. Well i bought it and i want to sell it ASAP. i hope i find someone stupid enough to take it.
People that compare this game with Vanguard, WoW or even AoC cant be normal. They must be blinded and mindwashed by all the commercials.
This game runs on a Pentium 4 3Ghz, 2GB and a shitty VGA Card with max quality.
No Bump Mapping, No high resolution Textures, just plain old 2003 WoW Grafic with other design.
Thats it.
Many people will follow my opinion soon after a few weeks more people will wake up and see what crap they bought and even played.
BTW > Warrior Priests are the Paladins of Warhammer, even 7 Orcs cant kill one of them. Nice Balanceing Mythic
(no native english,thnx)
OMG WARHAMMER !!! RUN !!!
Everything you said is true.
I look at my other options.... and realize i dont really have any. Thus I can enjoy the WAR pvp because i have friends who play with me. With out them, a guild, I also could not imagine many playing this game for any length of time.
Its fun when you know who you play with, but really it isnt anything new. Its simple, its pvp, the same kind of stuff you can get with counter strike matches, only its some what of an mmorpg. I dont expect much, so i have no huge expectations to ruin the game for me.
In this day and age, mmorpgs have become dumbed down instant gratification pieces of childish crud. You have to adapt lest you get stuck in the complex gaming of the past.

I've seen a lot of crying about the "graphics" not being slick, or shiney enough for some folks. That's fine. I fully understand that to each of us, we have certain desires, and yes in some ways, WAR's graphics are not the sharp pretty jump in looks we've seen from other new games.
This is true. However, most games, especially on a console or in a single or limited multiplayer format... they can do this. Mythic made sacrifices to "pretty" in order to bring a game that as many people as they could get to play. And that is the point I am most amuse by, that some people are so selfish, arrogant and dumb they cannot understand that there are millions of potential gamers, and cantering to the masses = profit and profit is why games are made. I guess no one told funcom this... but I digress.
WAR's beauty is in it's rough and grainy look, in the fact that you can play out in an open PVP zone with a hundred people and for the most part, fight. Sure there are times it slows and lags, hell what do people expect? It's the internet baby, it's not a LAN. But just imgaine the strain if the game was "pretty" with lots of shiney surfaces and the animation didn't scale down with distance!
I've seen it, fighting the guys at the back seem to be jsut rag dolls moving in repetative loop not "fighting" as the do up close. And? I really don't care about that. WAR has excellent gameplay, moments of flash and pizzazz if you know where to look, and well...
If it's style you want, go play other games, I prefer substance.
A couple points.
1. The low poly count models, primitive in nature, with cartoon like shaded textures make it more accessible to a wider target audience. Unfortunately, these old school graphics are still not running that well on a large number of gaming rigs.
2. The games textures are fairly low rez. This means you see a lot of what looks like the same texture tile over and over and over and over making a pattern on many objects and on the worlds surface.
3. If you have ever alt tabbed, and loaded back into the game. You can see the models with out the textures on them. They are about on the same level as World of Warcraft when it comes to models. The only difference you feel is coming from the textures.
4. The textures themselves are pretty bad. A few gems here and there. Its clear Mythic is not wanting to drop a lot of money in up to date graphics and performance optimization that go with them, and rather take an easier rout while making the game more playable on a wider array of systems. If only that worked well, as it doesnt right now.
The graphics in WAR are horrible by todays standards. Period. You tend to over look them once the game play hits you, but you still cant help but imagine how much better it would be with better graphics. Mythic was cautious, they didnt make a next gen game, they are a small company, and they put together an outdated but well rounded package with a heavy focus on marketing and gameplay features to get their sales.
Its all business from this point on.
