Mabinogi is the only game I can think about that allows to role play as your pet.
And given certain quest conditions you can role play as the monsters in the game.
Most cash items can be traded in-game so a non-paying player can get cash shop item.
From what I understand the sticking point of cash shop item games is the cost - which is still cheaper than fee based games.
I do not understand how people hate cash shop items (which is optional) turn around and pay games like WoW or AoC (which is not optional).
You cannot like cash item games and then at the same time pay a monthly fee of $15 for fee base games. It is hypocrisy.
You either like free games or not.
Mabinogi doesn't have classes.
For example, you can be a magic wielding swordsman.
Go play Mabinogi.
The problem I have with PK is it ticks off a lot people when it is done without content and the lack of punishment against the offender.
It reminds me of the time when Flyff had PK on all the servers. There were two mages that where running around killing everybody. Melee fighters couldn't get close enough against the mage range attacks.
This is almost like the same thing if you're walking down the street minding your own business when somebody decides to punch you in the face. In this case you can go to the police for help.
MMORPGs lack an enforcement structure when people break the law and order.
