lin 2 has shrunk to a niche in the US... in asian market it is still growing, and owns the majority of the gaming marketplace there.
So... I made this elf scout (now silver ranger) in Beta (so naturally it is on Bartz now), and played it off and on mostly solo since. I never really learned the market well enough to make money at it, but did get lucky in halloween event last year, and made enough money to get a drake set and +6 emi bow (cheap shot), which lets me solo w/o alot of soul-shot useage. So, now I'm faced with a problem, I've been reading about gracia, and it looks like c weapons are gonna tank in value so I started playing again this weekend, and went lv45 to 47.5, was pushing for B-Grade before gracia so I could dump my emi bow and get a low enchant b-grade bow. Problem is, as I do more research, it apears B-Grade will be dropping in value significantly to, which puts me in a bit of a bind... should I try to sell off my weapon and just play something else and wait 'til gracia when I can replace it for 1/100th the value of it now. Or should I just keep my +6 emi bow (cheap shot), 'til A-Grade, although since I havn't really found a way to make money (I've been within 100k of 4.5mil adena all weekend, lol, although I have manored a little over 1500 great cobol i should be able to make a little adena off of, although I don't really understand the manoring system past seeding/harvesting, lol.) I've heard the Ep1/2/3 release weaps that make music notes when u hit stuff with 'em, and hair dyes ect that were put in my storage while account was inactive are worth alot to, so I might be able to sell them off and get a A-Grade weap to, dunno really.
A few more things.... with changes coming to wolves, should I ditch the lv43 hatchling I've been lvling and lvl a wolf instead, or will strider still be worth it later on?
Should I get dyes? I've been looking at +3str -3con, but, I dunno if its worth it, as its pretty expensive to get 10 of 'em... are these obtainable solo or you need a party to hunt area or do quest that generates these, and is it worth the money in your opinion? I havn't been able to find very much information on where you can get these at short of buying them :(
KK think thats all for now, thanx for any help you give.
Look at it like this, it makes about as much since for NC soft to do this as it would for Blizzard to say, we're tired of Lin2 owning the asian market, we're going to remove rested xp, and decrease mob and quest xp so it takes 1-2 years to make max level in WoW... they still arn't going to touch the asian market, and they'd alienate their current market.

Could be that NCSoft sees the vast success of WoW, which has a very quick leveling curve. Then AoC comes out with another "soft" leveling curve and gets 700k sold at launch. They probably figured this means that the gamer public really doesn't want hardcore grind leveling anymore. I would guess it's due to the fact that those back in 1999 with EQ1 are older now with families and can't spend several hours in front of a PC grinding away.
I never tried L2 myself, I heard horror stories about the agonizing leveling and rampant ganking from a few friends who used to play. I'd consider giving it a try with a trial after this goes live though.
Thats why they made guild wars, and are in the process of making Aion, to grab the lazy american market. Lin2 has a strangle-hold on the asian market though, it seems stupid for them to jeapordize that to try to change their most sucessful in video game to try to be a better WoW clone than the other 50 WoW clones that are out there.
I do have mixed emotions over this though... one of the primary things I dislike in lin2 is the stranglehold dwarves have on the economy. Its gonna hurt everyone that doesn't sell off their stuff now though, as all their gear is going to tank in value unless its A or S grade it looks like.

I hope not, i hate point and click.
I hate wasd... even when I played wow I used my mouse to move.... keyboard movement is for FPS and the mass of MMOFPS that are western MMOs.
Are you still playing (or subscribed to) your first MMO?
