I agree about some of the character models - they have been working on the major revamp for them which will allow new armor, etc, but it's taking a long time and there's no ETA on when it will actually come out. Still though, I love the game, and really enjoy soloing and grouping, and do quite a bit of both. Honestly I'm somewhat baffled by the people who never find a group - maybe there are some dead servers, but I really don't have too much of a problem finding groups, especially at the levels where there are popular dungeons available. Of course with the new newbie zones, grouping doesn't really take off until the mid 20s or later.
Personally I have done this, I'm currently playing Everquest off and on, and really enjoying it.
Innovative Class Design - Dark Age of Camelot - Despite being an early game, DAOC still has some of the coolest class designs out there, from the Friar (staff-wielding, cloth wearing, melee healer) to the Animist (caster class whose power comes from dropping mushroom like immobile pets who can cast root and nukes on those passing by) and many more.
Innovative Class Design - Vanguard - Vanguard has a lot of interesting classes, but the Bard class deserves a special honor as the first class I've seen where you can build your own buffs and abilities by combining the parts of songs you learn as you level.
Innovative System - Deities in Everquest 2 - EQ2 really took a step forward when they allowed characters to choose which deity they worshipped and have it actually matter in the game - choose a deity, do quests to go farther along their path, and you get items as well as a stat-boosting pet, but most importantly you get an altar for your house where you can sacrifice items to get various blessings and miracles - powerful abilities that can often save you in a tough fight.
Innovative System - Travel in Vanguard - Vanguard was one of the first games to bring out flying mounts, and is still to my knowledge the only game with an active sailing system where you can build a ship and sail it anywhere you want in the world. City of Heroes definitely revolutionized travel in MMOs but Vanguard gets the nod for the fantasy genre.
Innovative System - Spell Upgrades in Everquest 2 - Instead of just having spells and combat abilities be static that you get once and forget, EQ2 gives you the basic version for free and it's up to you to try to upgrade it as best you can for more damage, more healing, and a better spell all around. I especially like that they tie this into the crafting system - allowing you to get upgrades from player crafters, as well as dropped from monsters, all the way up to the sought after Master I spell.
If any of you are having issues with the trial, especially getting crashes when you try to zone where it says "Can't Create Zone" here's the fix. Apparently when people were getting the game from the Station Launcher it wasn't downloading all the files.

Yeah this is strange since his system is better than mine and I run the game fine. I would look in the game support forums, they will work with you to try to identify the issue.
