Heya guys.. I seem to be having trouble finding true specs on my video card. Just curious if anyone know if it will run LotRO at minimum settings.. (my processor and ram should be ok).
thx.
Heya guys, just want to make sure of some things.. 32 hours into the dl of the free trial and 16 more to go. =)
Though I will be buying a gaming rig in the nxt few months, right now I will be playing on my relatively old laptop.
I am not expecting high performance at all. Just want to make sure I will get some performance period. lol
I am running an Intel Pentium M 2.10 ghz..
My video card is what im worried about. it is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controler. It runs WoW at a medium lvl at about 20 -25 fps
752mb of ram, though ram is so very cheap adding more wont be a problem.. just curious what you think.. if I play on the lowest settings until I get my new comp, will it be playable?
Thx for all the input all..
I am currently downloading the free trial of LotRO and we'll see.
Vanguard also sounds interesting, though so much bashing on the WoW forums makes me wary. =)
From what i can see, the gameplay and story in LotRO is what I am looking for and sounds as if I may enjoy it, If not, well no money lost just 3 days of download time heh.
If the people here are indicative of what the community of LotRO is like I'm sure I will enjoy it.. thx again
Thx for the advice guys..
1stly i can just about guarantee my buying WotLK, but that leaves 6 months or so of what? running around shatt showing off my T6 and doing dailies? lol
Maybe I put a bit too much emphasis on raids. Though I absoloutly love them and the teamwork involved in them I'm very willing to sacrifice endgame content for a game that is truly rewarding throughout.. One of my problems with WoW currently is that the game dosent really begin until 70. Go out and kill me 20 pigs for me stew etc. it has nothing to do w/ advancing you as a character or a story line for that matter, but im hungry, lazy and you need 47000xp till ur nxt lvl anyway.
Community and an immersing world are just as important.. you can have the best endgame dungeons around, but if the journey there was boring and the 20 guys you gotta do w/ are all 13yr old brats and you have no choice but to play with them because no one else plays well then what good are they.
So yeah, endgame is something i loved in wow, but it isnt the be all and end all in my choosing a new game.
Thx again guys.. I'll go start doing some research on Vanguard as well.. I have heard bad things but that was almost exclusivly on WoW forums, and well we tend to have our high horse we like to ride on. =)
Having always been a fan of the console RPG a few years ago some friends got me into WoW as both a source of entertainment and a means by which to keep in touch as I was moving to Asia.
Though the story in wow leaves much to be desired, and the quests dont really make you feel like you are part of the world, being my 1st MMO I was awed and in love w/ the community and the world as a whole.
However, 3 lvl 70's, and a dead Illidan later, I feel it is time to move on.
I have been researching where to go and I have been leaning towards LotRO. It has a story line that I have loved since i was a small child and from what I have read you really feel as if you matter in the world the dev's have created.
I also have heard, however, that though many people have gone from WoW to LotRO and loved it, people who were serious in Raiding and endgame content in wow have hated it. They say the boss fights dont require anywhere near the skill or cohesiveness that they do in WoW and the scripting leaves much to be desired. I have also read that population just isnt quite there for LotRO yet (thought those articles were a few months old).
Is that all true? and if it is, is the leveling experience and the journey towards endgame immersive and interesting enough to make up for whatever the endgame may lack at this point?
I am downloading the free trial as I type this. I t should be done sometime Sunday night. (6gigs of DL on a not so hot dsl connection meh). Just curious what i'm in for. strictly a matter of opinion but for those of you who have played WoW do you think LotRO is a good move for someone who at one point truly loved WoW?
Are there really population problems? Just looking for some advise. thx in advance guys and gals...
