Yeah, this will be one of the deciding factors for me: when I touch down on a planet will it feel like a real place wth open terrain and wilderness that can be freely explored (on foot or by vehicle) and PvE-adventured in along with other players, and maybe against them if it's a PvP-server.
And all of this without encountering a loading screen or being placed in a "story instance" or a "there's a maximum of 48 people in this zone/instance"-thing a lá Age of Conan as soon as I leave a major population centre like a city or a spaceport. We shall have to wait and see, I guess :)
"I'll also wait for things to cool off until I play seriously , for me the imersion is ruined when there are 10+ waiting to go in the same door lol.
I'll be taking my time , and taking it all in :)
See you on the road.... maybe"
Same here, leisurely leveling up a burglar since I've never played one, so it's just like trying out one of the new classes and since most are gonna go Warden/Rune-Kepper I'll be checking out what the Burglar is all about, and taking my sweet time about it, doing some Shire quests here, doing some Bree-lands quests there, and generally having a good time, time enough for my currently retired lvl 50 minstrel to do book 15 and Moria etc etc somewhere down the road, wherever it may take me :)
As a follow-up question do the new classes have any special starting quests or even areas, or is it the same as starting any of the current characters, not a problem for a new player of course but for someone's who's run through the various starting areas with all too many alts it would be fun to do something new. Oh well, no matter, the Shire quests are always fun to do :)

according to this new article, Bioware has solved the issue with seeing other players running around with your companion. They wont mention how though....

We had a challenge when we realised that players running about in a public world will eventually see their companion running about with another player," admits Ohlen. "Athough we've solved it." How? Procedurally generated party hats? He laughs: "I can't tell you how, but we've solved it."
Umm whats up with all the secrecy Bioware ? Is it really such a big deal to explain how you solved this problem ? Or should we just trust you ?
Cause they don't want other companies stealing their ideas. If they revealed too much now they might just see their innovative solution making an appearance in say, Guild Wars 2 or some other future MMO :)
Well, it's good to hear they are not satisfied with the way combat is and has been in the typical MMORPG, i.e players "swinging through each other", and that they want to make combat more Star Wars-like, but the word "choreographed" has me a bit worried though, sounds like the players will have no real control over fighting and everything will be well, "choreopgraphed" and pre-decided in the effort to make combat look good, but I hope I misinterpreted the use of that word :)
