Random loot is a major staple of the AC franchise. I don't like the interface for AC for looking at loot (I don't use decal). AC2 was pretty simple, kill a mob random loot drops, very easy to check stats. You never knew if you were going to get that really special item.
If your looking for boosted gfx, the high res client is your best bet with dx 10 with vista.
The real boost will come with Moria xpac as that was designed from the ground up with dx10 in mind and Turbine is trying to push the envelope as best they can.
defragmenting will help you a ton. I think openedge's problems were hitching more frequently, 3-5 mins with a small hitch is norm for most mmo's, wow excluded because its not going to push a system very hard.
Also, make sure you have any backround services that are not important turned off. If you have Antivirus running it will cause a hitch.
The real shock for me is FC only pocketed 20% of the box sales? I am not familiar enough with how much other companies make off of box sales but is 20% the norm?
In fairness to FC, this is the reality of the last 2 months.
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
