I'm sure you didn't mean it in terms of eliminating bookmarks all together, i'm just silly anal about things sometimes

I figured that was the case, but it's still good to know.

Have fun learning basically everything from scratch.

Ships now leave wrecks that can be salvaged.
      Warp to 0
Heavy Interdictors with infinipoint can scramble supercaps in lowsec (no more lowsec gatecamping in motherships)
      No remote DD from titans
Many active modules can be overloaded for a few cycles
No more t2 bpo cartels, everyone can build t2 with the right skills through invention
JUMPBRIDGES in 0.0, connecting starsystems! Best. Idea. Ever.
Cynosural jammers for pos, disrupting all cynos in system (bad, bad idea)
A few more posmodules (system scanner)
Trinity graphics engine with more cowbell
Probing changes (nor more triangulating), exploration, no more high level ded plexes static, they are now jumping systems and have to be probed out.
A few more shipclasses (tier2 bc, tier3 bs, t2 frigs etc.)
      Built in voicecom
New fleet management and self invite form corp/alliance
Overview tabs and filtering options, plus bracket filtering for the whole screen (you can set it to hide all drones for example)
An industrial capital with the tank of a carrier, a clone vat bay, huge cargo and a siegemod that can compress raw ore
      Jump freighters (freighter+jumpdrive)
      Lvl5 missions

err...a few more changes..actually, a crapload of changes

Head esplode.   But seriously, looks like I might have a ton of reading ahead of me if I want to jump back into the EVE piranha pool.  Anyway, I am really glad they ditched the whole bookmark system at least.

      Thanks again for the responses.

    • Thanks again for the responses.   It's too bad about the lag  but  I guess  that's  just the current reality with  a bunch of players in one area all on the same giant server thousands of miles away.

However, the new factional warfare does look really interesting since it does seem to focus of smaller non gate camping based PvP, which is the kind of thing I was hoping for.

The ability to warp to 0km also sounds like a positive change.  I remember hearing rumors of this before I left, and people grumbling about it would ruin the game.  Clearly that's not the case.

By the way, are there any other major changes in the last 2ish years that a returning player might want to know?

    • So I'm considering playing EVE again after a rather long (bit under 2 years) time of inactivity.  The main reason I stopped playing was the terrible lag during even a modest sized PvP battle.  The other reason, sort of ties into the first, was the gate camp based PvP.  I know there are other kinds of that seemed to be the primary form of PvP happening.  However I imagine the all gate camping would have bothered me less if I wasn't precluded from fighting in the battle due to the severe lag.

As i know many changes and updates have been made during my time away I was wondering if the lag in largish PvP battles is better now (for someone in, say, the eastern US)?  And is gate camping is the PvP norm?

      Thanks in advance.
