Can't wait.

to quote you:
"The majority of the players do notpost on the forums."
Been a SWG player from early after release till 8 months after NGE and been back from time to time to boost SOE's figures by accepting those vet return trials.
SWG Pre-Cu was simply a unfinished beta, SOE added stuff later and lied to the customers. That hasn't changed ever since.I kinda liked CU, if it weren't SOE going full throttle for the jedi promotion since dec 2003 there. But NGE, it killed off the game and chased (and I dare to say this without official SOE confirmation on this matter, although Smed would disagree as he apparnelty "plays with millions of satisfied SOE customers ina galaxy far, FAR away to reach for us") at least 90% of the playerbase away, simple.
From what I've seen the current SOE devs are really doing their best on the game now (unlike in the past) but too little way too late.I accepted a vet trial yet again last week, I always played on Eclipse from Launch, and it was desolate. Other servers: empty.....performance with a high end machine: poor. Now I could transfer away and give up that 3rd slot...but that cost $50 apparently.....no way. start over on a 'busy' server? why? the game is broken with a grindpath to lvl 90 and to grind a toon through a broken game: no way.
Even the devs announced it.....they are adding quests to lvl up from lvl 50+ to that bad Wookie jungle expansion. So there are holes in the leveling path in a game that is 5y old! (not taking the mindless "run around, do missions kill everything leveling" here)
and with SOE-SWG department of customer treatment I experienced in the past:
-lying to the paying subs
-sending default answers to tickets when you are offline although you were ingame for like 12 hrs when you got no response on Prime time
Such coincidence.
-lack of content (STILL there even with that nice heroics stuff meant for players that aren't there anymore)
-empty servers (yes, surprise, there aren't millions playing SWG with cloak enabled)
SWG was a fun game to play pre-CU and CU for me, although it did not remind me of STAR WARS (which I am a huge fan of), but I would take that dump over NGE anytime. I despised WOW in beta and I even liked to play WOW after SWG, imagine that! Luckily enough I found good games in EVE and AOC which does run fine on my high end PC, unlike SWG where you stumble all over the code every freakin second..
Props to SOE though how they still get ppl to givethemmoney for nothing. I wished they teach me how to do that.
Smedley would have gained respect from me if he announced that LFG thingy on April 1st...that would've been a blast.
I can say SOE got what they deserve, bad publicity and a dead game. And yes mr Obraik, You can jump in every SWG thread saying SWG is the best game ever created and $OE sends you to gaming heaven
and you can post about 'minorities/majorities' but the fact is that SWG was, and still is a bunch of coded CRAP.
and the majority of the players who do not post on the forums prove that, as they can not post anymore because their accounts are not active. a.k.a. those players are GONE.
What does any of that have to do with an LFG system being added?
Originally posted by ThunderousOh yeah, I'm sure AoC will be as devestating to SWG as Vanguard/Tabula Rasa/PoTBS/<insert MMO released since SWG> was. AoC isn't going to kill SWG - just look at all the dissapointed posts in the AoC forums ;)
I just KNEW Obraik would be here to defend this...
LMAO. There is NOTHING that could be done to screw up this game that Obraik would not defend. Sure, it's a nice little tool. For one, we won't need to argue server pops anymore, we'll know exactly how dead they are, though I'm sure SOE will try to find a way to boost the population levels somehow, even if it means using Bots or GM toons set to AFK all over the place.
But Obraik will never get it because he works for SOE. It is his job to come here and viral market. So I do understand his position...
Obraik, the ONLY chance this game had was a two years ago to rollback. That was it, that was all. They stuck the course with the NGE and now the game = /MISERABLE FAIL.
All that is left are the DIE HARD Star Wars fans, who will play any game, and I mean literally ANY game that has a Star Wars skin to it.
Pre-CU/NGE, I don't care. SWG as it stands today, is one of the worst online experiences a paying consumer can have. The mere fact they are still charging for server transfers is an insult.
AoC/WAR will be devestating to what little playerbase SWG has left. When Fallen Earth hits the shelves, the WoW expansion, and when the EVE expansion goes online... /GAME OVER
Please, explain to me how adding a LFG tool will "screw up the game". Give me a real good reason why it's such a horrible thing for people to be able to find each other easier to group up and do stuff. To me, it just looks like you're hating for the sake of hating and you're not really sure what you're hating on.

Originally posted by ObraikWhat you don't seem to realize is that the situation is waaaaaaay beyond small, less drastic solutions. According to players on Kauri there are only about 35 people who log on to that server on a regular basis. The situation at this point is dire and throwing band-aids at the problem isn't going to help. It's just an insult to those players who still subscribe to the game.
What people don't seem to realise is that it's the first step in helping those on the low population servers. As has been said hundreds of times now, it's best to start with the less drastic solutions first and then work up to those more drastic solutions.
Whether the LFG system helps the low pop-servers or not, an LFG system is still something that the game has needed for years now.
Based on that thread they are finally starting to understand that maybe they shouldn't be subscribing.
These are the opinions of the people on the forums. What about those that don't post on the forums? There are people on the servers that don't want a server merge, they either enjoy the lower pops or they don't want to lose what they've established over the years. Their opinion is just as important as those that post on the forums.
Honestly the only people I've seen who are against server merges are "mayors" who are camping abandoned cities with a shuttleport. They know they don't have enough citizens to recreate their city on a new server so they run to the forums to scream bloody murder. Other than that small group I don't see a real argument against merging the servers.
Again, you're basing that on what you see posted on the forums. The majority of the players DON'T post on the forums.
