    • Will you Roleplay?
    • I don't think the MMO genre lends itself very well to RP, unless you're good at ignoring people who don't RP. The old pen and paper RPG system allowed you to have good control over everything and only include people who wanted to stay in character. That's just not the case with MMOs.

I don't roleplay anymore, but even if I did I wouldn't choose to do it in an MMO. It can work, sure, but I just don't see it as the ideal platform for RPing. I play MMOs for the competitive/strategic aspect that only they can offer, just like I play FPS to get the other side of the coin. The term RPG as it applies to PC gaming has strayed pretty far from the original meaning.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • Any Blackguard info out there?
    • I didn't mean that Black Orc was the anti-magic tank, I mean that it's playstyle is a mirror of the Swordmaster; they both use attack chains. KotBS and Chosen are both chant-based tanks, although the former seems to use buff chants and the latter uses debuff chants. The Ironbreaker has a "Grudge" systems that increases his damage against enemies based on how much they hurt his allies. The Black Guard has a "Hate" system which hasn't been explained yet, but it makes sense that it would work similarly to Grudge.

If you want to know how the Black Guard plays, your best bet is the look at the Dwarf Ironbreaker. They will be different, but the mechanic of these classes should be similar since they're mirrors, just like Chosen/Knight of the Blazing Sun and Swordmaster/Black Orc.

    • Why you won't being playing Warhammer?
    • Honestly, why haven't they made a sequel to UO? I would play the hell out of it if they did. I'd prefer pre-AoS, but even if it had item grinding I might consider it. I just can't understand why such a successful and critically acclaimed franchise hasn't put out a sequel. I guess they're too busy making lame ass Ninjas Versus Pirates expansions for the 1997 original...... *sigh*

    • Why they announced the DELAY after the CE release?
    • Another reason they may have announced the delay and the CE at the same time is that the CE comes with an open beta key. Hence, players who are obsessed with WAR (the same ones who are most likely to buy the CE anyway) may not want to wait even longer for a taste of the game and so they have an incentive to preorder the CE.

In my case, it worked. If they need more time to finish the game, so be it. But dammit, I want to play!
