Ugh, another let down. Had high hopes since this is a game developed by Mythic, the same people who did DAoC, which was AWSOMENESS!!! Then I play this and, ugh, boooring.
Maybe my standards are set to high because I was able to play great sandbox MMO's. Dark Age, FFXI, SWG, yea, those really spoiled me. But now adays, these games are just lacking. IMHO, all they keep doing is dumbing down these games for the masses so 'Johnny 5th Grader' can play for his 10 minutes before he goes to bed at 8PM.
Well, lets just keep on lowering that bar!! Maybe one day this genre will just die. Seriously, if you have played other MMO's, then this one is nothing new. Same ol' same ol'... unless you're a total fanboi of this series it really isn't worth picking up.
While I do agree with you , you have to stop and think about it: We have been playing mmos for a while now, when the genre was still NEW to us, it just "felt" more fun. It was a new experience, like your first time on a motorcycle, then after a while the motorcycle becomes second nature, and u lose the "rush" u felt the first time u did 155mph on the highway on one wheel.
Lately Ive been put off by all new mmos, I try em, but never really get into any of them nor have as much fun as I had with a great group of friends. I hope the genre survives the "bottomline", and by bottomline I mean companies rushing out half-ass products in an attempt to "woo" stockholders into thinking they are the next "Blizzard" or "SOE"
Where did the quality gaming go? ![]()

LOL yawn.. who cares.. You still have lag spikes that go from 100-9999 lmao since lauch.. oooh bug PVP in July 2008 then we get DX10 in AUG 2008 WOOT cant wait for those!
I haven't come across anyone in game for over a month who has said they have a lag spike like before.
I read and see guilds posting on you tube sieges that are smooth flowing and perfectly playable with working siege weapons, the boot out of zone bug gone, the mercs attacking etc.
There is a siege event on test server tomorrow if you want to see yourself.
DX10 was said that it will be shown in Aug in a press release before the game launched, not released then.
Nice summary of exaggeration you did there though.
well done. Always happy to see someone pull the card of a troll. People exaggerate a bit too much and generalize on these forums.
I had fun with AOC, unfortunately I hyped myself up, liked the game, but left after a number of friends left. The game looked GREAT, sure there were bugs (there always is at launch) nothing GAME breaking for me like at VG launch. Great gfx, ran smooth on my ancient 6300 oc'd. I hope funcom gets in some content and Ill come back.
By the way, you guys act like gaming companies are the only ones to blow smoke up our butts with tantilizing offers that rarely solidify. It happens EVERY DAY in EVERY MARKET. ![]()
ROFL @ people still thinking companies are "wow clones"
You know there were mmos WAY before WOW ? The toolbar, the concept of tanking, epic drops, these are all terms that were NOT invented by Blizzard. It's ok, you probably failed to realize this considering the original poster is just ranting and raving, typical behaviour of fanbois.
WOW is a good game, so is EQ2, Vanguard (yes it has come a long way), the simplistic LOTRO, EVE, Lineage 2; all great games in their own way.
Stop "ranting and raving" and save it for your "uber blog" with its 3 subscribers, 2 of which are males pretending to be females for your hopes and attention.
That is all. ![]()
Hey everyone is wrong now and then, so can someone please point me to something that WOW did that was cloned? I need a good laugh.
The only thing I can think of is when eq2 simplified their crafting system about a year after WOW's release. Wait but since we are on the cloning thing is it safe to assume that WOW cloned SOE eq2 by doing a crafting system? oh wait, and since the moneters in eq1 gave exp and so do the ones in WOW then obviously WOW cloned eq1 as well. oh wait, what about UO? lol etc etc etc /end sarcasm

Magus is much more useful then it was before. Their pets cannont be ignored anymore like in the past.
Anyways, since the patch, I can no longer gain morale on my runepriest. So........yeah.
My zealot, I logged in today and noticed 2 skills missing. Those skills that are red with the hands u get from level 1-9...one protects the healer from being hit its a shield...ye...wonder where the fuck they went.
Im not trying to be rude, but have you ever played a mmo from beta to launch? Just curious, once again I am not trying to be rude, but changes come and go, BIG changes. It happens in every mmo, why do people act suprised? Classes go thru nerfs and love. What is once the "head class on the block" one day is nerfed to oblivion the next. HOW the companies react to playerbased-critic is the ONLY difference I ever seen in any mmo.
Once again changes are coming, classes and playstyles will change ALOT for the next 9 months. Accept it.
LOL@ all you who had WOW as your first mmo (I'm sorry to say, it is sad, but welcome to the mmo world, hopefully you grew up and got yourself in a better mmo)
LOL@ people thinking WOW is the god of mmos (you do know toolbars, chest drops, and tanking were terms used WAAAAY before Blizzard even knew what an mmo was?)
LOL@ Blizzard doing something they said they would never do (every company does it, there was once a time SOE said EQ2 would NEVER have pvp, look at them now. Times changes, companies change, people change)
LOL@ the guy who called Warhammer WOW 2 (with slightly new improved graphics, keyword slightly)
