However the mainstream computer companies are required by their partners/sponsor suppliers to add certain "spam/junk programs" to the computer for advertisement. Believe it or not even if you remove them they still big you down just how they format their hard drives. You are limited to what they have in stock / who get supplied from (There for upping your final purchase price when not even intended).
When you build your own rig, you can choose by both price and quality. Some people stick to certain manufacturers for their main components. I myself am a fan of XFX products so I like to peak around at their mid range priced Motherboards/Graphics Cards and such. And if your a new comer to the market, again as the above posters stated, just ask a tech savvy friend to show you what's hot/good/value-able. You'd be surprised at how much you can save over a 5 to 10 year period just by building your own machines. As it stands I recently built my own quad core machine for around 1600 or so USD which would have ran me easily about 2000-2500 USD from a PC manufacturer.
Do note however, the big downside to building your own rig is also that there is no warranty, other than the parts failing (As long as you don't overclock you shouldn't have to worry about that). But when certain programs or network problems arise you will be forced to be the "Do-it-yourself" type of person, which in the end is actually neat because after you while you become tech savvy yourself just by staying on the lookout on what's happening and fixing this and that. Also regarding vista and such, it's not as bad as people make it. And just to be frank, Microsoft is turning turning off the support line for XP, which means drivers and such for X64 based XP systems will be scarce. I use Vista Ultimate 64bit on my system and I love it as well as many others, the only hitch is that you do need to dig around on the internet for the correct drivers, it wasn't long though until I found the right drivers for my old sound blaster audigy 2 card. Don't be afraid to try it at least, it's well worth it, especially if you plan on playing DX10 Games which do require Vista.
No games require DX10 as of yet though. Also Ive talked with someone who knows a crap load of stuff on this stuff. Right now the 8 series tech is top of the line. You may say well what about the 2 new ones. Well they didn't really do anything to make them stand out (Not sure what you meant here I didn't say anything in regards to anything similiar). DX10 was the last big step for graphics. Now they just add to the power no true upgrade.
But yeah heres the thing. Vista sucks at managing memory. Thats why you need at least 2gb. So if memory is a big issue a 7 series with 4gb of ram on a xp will run very well.
Require? No but optionize? Yes. And as a matter of fact Unreal Tournament 3 looks about twice as good in DX10 than it does DX9. I currently run a 8800GT and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon, and yes Vista is a memory hog and i have 4gb of ram myself I see no issues or leaks in the 6 months that I've used it on this machine. The real Vista downer comes from people using Vista Home Premium or worse yet Vista Home Basic and running only 512mb of ram (Asking for big trouble). And I'm not calling myself a computer expert but formerly being a Computer Repair Tech I do try to stay updated because it's fun to see the 6 month trends of outdatage pass.
This year does appear to be going slower though in terms of software progression and yes majority of games still do not support DX10, but why live in the past when you can live in the future in terms of hardware for mearly the same price and performance? That's what I do not understand. But then again change is something lots of people cannot accept.
I will play it to try it regardless, but I do hope they implement some of the classic SWG features like professions and gaining xp to up certain skill boxes. But only time will tell, I'm trying to keep my hopes to a minimum so I can be surprised. But I so miss the old SWG and my true Jedi Guardian + Perma Death, it's one of the only times I was actually scared to log into a game because all my time/effort might be wasted by one skilled bounty-hunter team tracking me down and killing me. Or forgetting to put away my lightsaber in the starport and getting flagged and having 20+ people attacking me, that's my wish. Deadly and riskful that creates the fun.

Ha, Ha, ha,. I found this very funny. Especially considering yesterdays indictment of Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska for not reporting $250,000 worth of "gifts" in exchange for steering contracts to the "giving" corporation. Note, the taking of these "gifts" is not illegal, just not reporting them is illegal. Corporations are allowed to "give" as much as they want to members of Congress. Fancy that.
Stevens is in his 80's, and probably incapable of having an erection and cheating on his wife. Does this mean he is faithful to the country? Faithful to the voters?
Two attorneys were standing on a street corner, talking. A beautiful woman walked by, and one attorney remarked, 'I'd like to screw her". The second attorney asked, "Out of what?"
Congress is comprised mostly of attorneys.
Right because I'm only talking about what a person does with their penis when I talk about their values right?
Oh wait...
Okay, right, I'll bite. Every member of Congress has values, they value votes and money. Name me a member of Congress that you believe values right and wrong over party and personal profit.
Whether they cheat on their wife is irrelevant. That is what your post talks about. My response expands the picture to other conduct.
Sadly I think deep down every member knows the difference between what's right and what's wrong for the people. However if you've ever seen movie "V for Vendetta" it does distinctly clarify how this gets edged and off tracked. Certain people have certain "Agenda's" and I know many people like to think this sort of thing is only Fictional but it's true. In order for majority of people to gain power and get into the US Senate they must have a backbone and that usually means a fountain of money will be provided for campaigns and such. Now just as human greed goes and lots of us gamers know this from dealing with in-game loot. When you give somebody something of value you expect to get something you want back, exactly how not only the US but LOTS of the world political parties operate.
I always was very edgy towards John Edwards, I dunno why but I just get stingy feelings just from how people preach about their beliefs. But as for the privacy against people and the press related statement, I think it's good stuff like this gets out, I was a fan for Clinton and I do think he made a mistake with blowing the whole sexual thing out of proportion, but that's his life's story. Disregarding that you can tell a lot about people just by how they treat their own private lives, because how your life is going does dictate on your decision making no matter how high in power you are, it's just the way the human mind works. So in a way if this is how he treats his wife, I.E. Ignoring her well being, is that how we want our president to handle certain problems?

This is the one game that needs to be bought from SOE and given to the right hands. It still has much potential even after all these years and lack of new age graphics. All it needs is a company to remodel the game engine and clean up the ingame mechanics and PERHAPS add hitboxes. Not having hitboxes always kind of annoyed me. You could hit a guy in the foot, leg, waist, chest, head and you'll do the same damage. BFR (Battle Frame Robotics) **MECH WARRIORS** Really destroyed the small portion that was left of the infantry part of the game. Every year I resub at least once just to take a peak at what's going on, although I haven't been back since the merger I do know SoE has 2 brave DEV's working on the planetside team and if they could get transfered to the right company with the right budget for the game, they could make a very decent re-launch. But as it stands now I did play the game since release and played it until end of 06. Like many stated here. After you get to know your enemy personally after every fight and you know the skill level of certain players it does get very repetative.
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
