There really are a ton of quests, though they only reward you with fame, which doesn't have too many benefits to make questing in ryzom sought after. If you added some light exp, money, or maybe better rewards for having high fame with civilizations or factions, some kind of special items, abilities, or crafting plans (nothing too uber).
There are some quest chains that reward things like this,
but far to few to have people mass questing. I think for a start, finishing implementing all the the encyclopedia quests they had planned for skill, craft plans, perminent hp+50 type things would provide alot of gamers who like questing with something to do. They could give rewards for the quests like the event stuff, the items that let you use run speed, invulerability ect,
(I finally started posting on mmorpg.com, yay for ryzom getting me inspired again lol)
I couldn't find anything online that I could stay interested in for more then a couple weeks. I went out and bought Console games for the first time in a year lol :).

I sound like a broken record because it appears that no matter how many times I say it, you guys always say something that translates to "stfu and do it our way or go away". So I say thats fine, hang on to your ancient history if you want, and put up a new shard for people who don't care for your history and want a new one. Broken record. If we're lucky the character databases will be toast and everyone will have to start from scratch anyway :]
Anyway I am not standing there behind you with a charged AMP pointed at your head, now am I? Kindly refrain from replying if you feel that doing so would waste your time, and problem solved :]
I do not really understand the appeal a server wipe would have. Though to each his own ;). To me a game that has had two near deaths is miracle event. Though as a player looking from the outside on the game I would be very hesitant to play it. Especially if I heard they wiped all character data. People work hard to meet people, level up, form alliances ect. To have that all wiped away, would severly deter me from evening trying a game as a new player. I would feel my work would be pointless. Everyone plays for there own reasons, to meet people, to level up high and try and become the best, to make and develop guilds, PVP. To me a server wipe would really kill all those things. Pvp would be ran by a small group of people who leveled the fastest, and would be like that for months till other more casual players could catch up. People wouldn't have the ability to help one another as well as they do currently, because of the need to improve themselves first to make things better. Alliances would be shattered because as with any game people work to bolster themselves and there friends first before branching out. It just seems like a bad idea all around. Not saying it's a wrong idea, it just seems to carry to many negatives for me.
It may just be me. But I was comming into the world of ryzom a few years ago with very limited online gaming, and a largely inferior knowledge of general computer operations to most average gamers. I'm not really understanding what is complicated about the game at all. I quickly and easily was able to adapt to anything. Klients were quite simple to, asks for your login, you type you login info, I'm a little confused how people had issues using it. If I ever had a problem with knowing how to do something, it was as simple as typing in universal, and being flooded with people to help me with anything from simple to more complex problems. The way the community is even if there were no gms at all, there were more then enough people willing to help you figure something out if you had a problem. I think the real problem may be in the general babying of anything in the world today. People seem to lack the ability to learn or process anything that isn't square=square

Finish this game, and I will pay $ to play it. Keep it as is, no $$$.
Game was just beautiful with nice mechanics...again for a few levels that I played/explored. Also very nice people to meet and explore with.
What game is ever truely finished? The world of ryzom was meant to be a growing and developing game over time. As should any good game be. Even games with tons of subscribers like WoW, will always have some flaws, always have something changing. The lore should always change and develop over time to keep the lore nuts interested ;).
Aside from questing, what do you spend most of your time doing in-game?
