Biography

I have played so many mmorpgs it's not even funny. I'm the gamer that always gets away and no play for pay ever gets my buisness for long. Not because I have an endless pocket book, or because I can't get a chacter past lvl 15. No quite the contrary, I usually end up leveling faster than most people could ever dream. It's just that I'm not willing to settle for crap, and quite frankly almost everything out there is crap.

So what you're really saying just about every popular game on the market.  Wow you're cool!

      My list:

      1.  Saga of Ryzom one of the worst buggiest games I have ever played in my life.

      2.  Horizons:  Do I really need to elaborate

      3.  Shadowbane:  Lots of great concepts too bad the game play was weak.

      4.  FFXI:  This has more to do with a personal distaste for any game where the only clear gender barrier is the race that doesn't have a female option.  That and I dislike having to group for everything little darn thing I want to do.

      5.  Planetside:  Sure after the game was around for a while they fixed the server lag and evened up the servers a bit more, but that wasn't the case when I played it. That and no matter how much the jazz it up the game still feels like an uninspired tribes clone with a monthly fee.

    • Age of Conan: Leipzig - Content, DX 10 and Expansion
    • I didn't play AoC but from reading the posts on here it doesn't seem like I'm the only one scratching my heading going, "You're really already talking about an expansion."  What they're trying to say is, "Hey guys we just realized that if we wait eighteen months to release an expansion there's going to be nobody left to buy it.  So we took all this content that was going to be in the basic game at launch, repackage it as Expansion:  trails of a poorly managed company and we'll sell it back to you at 29.95." Way to go!

On a side note you guys really gotta stop being so hungry for wow's downfall.  I read it on here every day: "OMG this game is going to be sooo much better than wow.  OMG your dumb because your playing a game that has a simple easy to understand interface behold my nerd rage!"  The only thing this accomplishes is pepole buying poor wow knock off because YOU, meaning the people of these boards, tend to take their hype at face value.  Do yourselves a favor you really want to know what a game is like test it.  SIgn up for betas.  Then try to be objective.  Meaning several times during the course of the game honestly ask yourself, "Am I having fun" if the answer is yes then post your great big nerd rant on the boreds about how big a joygasum you just had playing age of warhamercraftgate:  revenge of the litch ring.  If not then keep your mouth shut or else the Fans' will getcha.

If for some god forsaken reason you are dumb enough to post an honest and objective review on these boreds whatever you do just let it stand.  DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES argue with the fan boys on here.  You cannot win.  It doesn't matter that they've only seen screenshots.  It doesn't matter that you've been testing Eve of the Planetside Fanatsy XI for 12 months they don't care.  What they care about is that somewhere outthere there's a game thats better than their mom telling them they need to take out the trash because we all know mom rep is easy to get.

    • Why play the grindpak?
    • No no they got it, it's just talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.  I'm sure your wife will tell you the same thing.  As a previous non wow fan said, grinding is the nature of RPG's and office jobs if you want something diffrent then perhaps you should seek out Call of Duty 4 or The Orange Box.  If you're sick of games meaning nothing in the end then perhaps you should you know try life, I hear that grinding in RL ammounts to being a more successful and interesting person.  As for this "truth" that you discovered, hate to burst your bubble buddey but we choose to live in wonderland knowing that truth from the start.  It's the nature of all of these games and their expansion packs.   If you thought for one second that because you killed kael at 70 that you would ride into WOTK on a silver cloud as angels cried golden tears for your efforts your mistekn.

    • Will there be too many DK's once the dust settles?
    •      Honestly I don't see this as being too much of a problem.  People where saying that with the introductions of paladins for horde and shaman for alliance that would you would see a high influx of each class to each side.  This simply did not happen.  Not because those classes are underpowered, but simply because after all the hype, after all the dust settled, people pick their main for a reason, and usually that reason is because they enjoy or because they fill a necessary roll in the group of players they've been hanging around with.  As such it's a big commitment to say, yeah remember that mage I have in sunwell loot that I"ve been playing for 4 years, you know I think it's time I get drop the pointy hat and staff for platemail and a deathcharger.

The other real reason is that when people get the new expansion all of their friends are going to be playing aroudn with the new content, seeing the new instances, playing around in the new bg's and you're going to be stuck outland doing the same crap you did before on your main and that little voice inside your head is going to say, " Why in the heck am I doing this?   Why don't I just level my main and come back to this guy in a couple of months when I've 'learned' the quests?'" Yes I'm sure that overtime many players are going to have a deathknight alt, but really how many of them do you think are going to be playing them all that often.  Probably a very slim amount, the majority of them will collect odd pieces of verious welfare epics and sit on their loading screen.

      my thoughts anyway,

So, Arthas is your buddy now? You can hang with him? WTF was wrong will Illidan being an end game mob? I don't want to play mini golf with the guy, I want to earn the right to face him and defeat him after hours of gameplay, raiding, and questing. That's why we put so much time into the mmo's, so that our achievments actually reflect our commitment.

I loved Kara, but 25 man and 40 man raids have their purpose as well. Blizzard just needs to get better with the rewards. 25 People to go in and kill Gruul and he drops one crappy axe. He needs to drop 3-5 pieces of tier 6 gear and there would be just as many people lining up to kill Gruul as Kara.

Yes Halaa was cool. I can't believe it has taken blizzard three years to figure out that meaningful world pvp is what people want.

And this whole 'everyone gets a jedi... i mean death knight' thing sounds all too familiar sadly.

Making a game easier and more accesible to the casual gamer isn't neccessarily making it better.

I was going to sleep but this guy seems a bit misguided.

      1.  Gruul drops 5 epics 3 T4 legging tolkens and 2 other random epics.   Dragon Spine Trophy being one of those epics and is the second best trinket in the game for combat rogues, enhancment shaman, and beast master hunters.  In addition the eye of gruul is a fantastic trinket for COH priests so honeslty I don't know what the heck your talking about.  The boss before him (High King Mulgar) drops 3 T4 shoulders and 2 random epics.  I'd hardly call that bad loot.  Considnetly those two tolkens go well with the 2 you got from karazhan, they make a set.  :P

      2.   Arthas is far from your buddy in WOTK.  What they mean by "he'll be visable the very moment you set foot on the island" is you'll see his workings on the land of northrend.  You'll catch glimps of him in the shadows, and you may even inadvertently find yoruself working for him through a few of the quest lines.  It's blizzards desire to make players in wow face more, "moral choices" along the way.  Things that don't necessarly feel right but are evils that are required if you want to achieve victory over your enemies in Northrend.  Even going so far as killing innocents allongside arthas the cavern of time in a recreation of the WC3 level: The Culling of Stratholme.  The whole point of all of this is to echo the journey of another aspiring hero who once strode upon the snow island of Northrend and so that the players get glimps of not just the figure that arthas has become but what turned him into the monster they see.
