While I await the next wave in MMORPGs, I need a new game. Been playing Guild Wars, and I LOVE it! But... I've done just about everything you can do in that game, with a few rare exceptions. And I'm ready for a change.
Thing is, most of the current MMOs seem... rather blah. Eve Online, while having a fabulous sandbox, is almost directionless too, which I'm not always fond of. However, most other games, including WoW, LotR, and City of Heroes just seem like Everquest with a different skin.
And while I loved EQ, I'm no longer interested in that game style. But, I'm wondering if there ARE any other games besides EVE Online and Guild Wars that come even close to a different feel of playstyle than EQ.
Without sucking as well. :)
So, without further adieu, is there anything anyone here could recommend? Or am I stuck waiting for the next generation of MMOs? (Note, also I get motion sick to FPS style games, so games like Tabula Rasa probably wont work for me either, sadly; sucks :( ).
Clearly, the best solution is for a game that offers rewards for both the casual player and the hardcore gamer. This makes more people overall happy, and garners the company that does so successfully more cash.
Guild Wars was one that did that pretty well. Another? City of Heroes, with their Sidekick system, allowed Casual Players to play with the Hardcore players.
