I don't mean to be insenstivite, but the guy deserved every bit of backlash for being partly responsible for the biggest screw up in MMORPG history.
While its sad and tragic what happened, clearly something else is going on with this person's stability and health. I don't think its fair to suddenly 'forget' what his part in the SWG NGE was because of this event. We, as players need to remember these NGE scale type incidents, and need to hold companies responsible and to a higher level of standard. That is the only way we will get quality games in the future instead of the trash we are getting now. In my mind, the best way to honor poeple like this is to hold companies responsible for their mistakes, remember things like NGE, and pressure the MMORPG industry to move foward with a higher level of passion, dedication, creativity, excellence and execution to produce quality games, and to not allow it to move backward.
So this has nothing to do with the idiots in the MMORPG industry making crappy games and bad decisions? Right...
If you need examples there's a whole lot of em over at SOE. There's also the problem of inbreeding in the MMORPG industry. The guys that worked on a crappy game are the same guys working on MMORPGS in development now.
I'd say the biggest problem with MMORPG's aren't the players at all, its the lack of execution, bad management, and bad decisions that are destroying this industry.

it's not worth the $15 USD you pay for it, definitely. When compared to better MMORPG's that are on the market.
Especially when you consider how small the developmen team is that is currently "supporting" the game. Especially when you consider how few and far between updates to the game are made, and how little content each update brings when much more needs to be done to improve the caliber of the player's experience.
Especially when you consider how unfinished this game still is, over a year and a half after it launched.
About 15 dollars a month is standard for most US based MMORPGs. VG is a substandard game in its current state. Therefore a lower subscription fee I feel is highly warranted in this case.
Only got time to play one of them. I'm also looking at who is going to be the strongest a year from now. I'm making a list of some of the more unique features of each game to compare what is best for me. Any comments on the subject in general of WoW vs VG vs WAR would be appreciated.

So I'm sure some of you can see the dilemma I'm in right now.
The real question isn't how many players they have a launch. Its how many they retain after the first month.
