| Biography | This time period is most boring... People used to use swords and shields for real- now we just do it virtual style.. |
| Quote | "Do ya ever think we will have people on the sun? I mean like, in the winter, when it''s cool" |
Well just to say,
A) I really enjoy eve's community - nice level of maturity and coolness for the most part
B) space game - cool space ships etc.
C) I know you guys are saying sp doesn't matter that much but, I know damn good and well that if I were a 10-50mil sp player, I would dominate
D) there should be something offered to people who subscribe for the first time to help with this "catch up" such as 2 or 3 bonus skill lvl's or something.
You guys make some valid arguments and I am paying to play now.... the community of the game is winning me over yet again even here in the forums. Thanks for being cool and not being a bunch of douches (like the wow fans)
Ok, gonna try to stick it out - the only reason I mentioned "catch up" which apparently you vets hate to hear is because I've been ganked a few times - once in 1.0 sec in deadspace doing a mission - luckily it was a cool pirate and after I told him he was f'n my gaming experience by ganking me - he took the time to explain a lot of things to me about the game. He even gave me part of the money he stole from my mission (overlord loot) to help repurchase my ship
Anywayz you guys rock and eve is a good game... Just didn't / don't like feeling like every 1 v 1 battle I come across I gotta run from it if possible ...
I can't diss on eve - it's a neat game. I also like the learning curve because it keeps people who don't have the patience to learn the game out of it. You see them in the rookie channel being douche-bags and you thank goodness for the learning curve. "glad that douchebag's going back to wow".
But, the game doesn't seem to be very noob friendly. This game rewards time put in. But, it rewards it to an extreme and with the ghost training giving the veterans an even bigger boost - there's no way for noobs to catch up. Not without YEARS of training and time.
Like I said, the game is fun but, the fact that it would take me soooo long to catch up has made me decide that this one too is not for me.
Great community, good game but, the vets of the game are rewarded too greatly in my opinion.
Thanks for the fun guys!

If you want to pvp - a different cookie cutter spec is required to succeed. They give you 3 potential talent trees but, you can't choose fun stuff unless you just don't care to be in an end game raiding guild or a group that won't diss you because you aren't specc'd right etc.
I'm tired of not playing charactors the way I want to, that's kinda lame. Worst off is end game elitism. WoW is so damn ridiculously easy that my buddies 8 yr old lvls charactors like it's nothing, every charactor class can easily solo and there is virtually no penalty for death. Being "elite" in WoW's end game is totally lame due to the fact that you're "bragging rights" are based on simply listening to the raid leader and clicking a couple buttons repeatedly.
Another gripe - the community. Sense the game is so so insanely easy, you get a mass of young people who (if you pay attention to the chat channels) make the game alot less fun that it could be with an awesome community. I've been playing Eve Online for about 3 weeks now and the community is frikkin awesome - except when the occasional WoW player signs up for the free trial and complains about the learning curve. It's awesome to be playing a mmo that's fun and weeds out stupid people at the same time.
Apologies for the gripe but, I paid tons of money into this game, I think I'm entitled.
rofl learn to farm gold to respecc twice a week to pvp and pve
and i think u got unlucky on the guilds u played..
my guild is disciplined but we have good laughs and we have fun raiding we have swp3/9..
i think ur tired of playing because u spend so many time and money playing and u get nowhere and u see tons of sometimes younger ppl than you succeding in the game, but hey just my opinion i mean no offense :)
yeah my title is a little off. It probably should read "why I've grown tired of WoW" or something. Regardless - yes you have fun in guilds but, if you want to see the very end game content - the guilds require that you spec a certain way for max dps, or max healing or max tanking etc. It's understandable BUT, blizzard should make all the spec balanced so that it's more fun and there is more diversity. Anyway this is just my reason and opinion.
Ghost training - lame - it doesn't encourage the people that are paying and playing much less new people who join the game. You already have a leg up to say the least by your time investment which Eve rewards pretty heavily.
I can't believe they offered something as ridiculous as ghost training.
Yea getting pod killed rules! I also got killed early on - joined a noob corp that told me to go to a sector and didn't bother to mention to adjust my auto-pilot to avoid low sec.
Oh yea the tutorial laughed at me and made fun of me - that was frikkin awesome!
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
