  • I'm gonna skip to the truth...Atlantica Online is currently in Closed Beta Testing. I've made bonds with my guildmates already and we have tried hard to get where we are so far. The AO staff offered that if we get 10,000 new players by July 28th, there will not be a wipe! I'm not forcing you to join but if you do, you'll enjoy this game more then most other games out there.

    First off...yes it's free to play and download, there is a shopping mall being planned just like most MMO's have. This game runs on low requirments making it easier for many people to play without the pricey hardware installation. 

    In the game your "Hero" is accumpied by mercs that join you through your adventure. You do not choose a class but a weapon for your hero (Sword, Spear, Bow, Gun, Cannon, Axe, and Staff). Each weapon comes with diffrent skills

    (Sword)Swordsman: Flamesword: Uses fire that increases damage delt.
    Deadly Strike: Does devestating damage when the swordsman is close to death.
    Dark Seed: Does continues damage with dark elemental energy.

    (Spear)Spearman: Lighting Spear: Enhancing your spear with lightning to increase Damage.
    Deadly Strike: Does devestating damage when the spearman is close to death.

    (Bow)Archer: Silence: Prevents the oppenent from using Magic
    Deadly Shot: Fires a devestating Salvo when the Archer is close to death.

    (Gun)Gunner: Wildshot: Fires powerful bullets at the opponent.
    Deadly Blow: Fires a devestating Salvo when the Gunner is close to death.

    (Cannon)Artilleryman: Deep Insight: Inflicts damage to the opponent, aswell as allowing you to see  your opponet's remaining HP
    Deadly shoot: Fires a devestating Salvo when the Artilleryman is close to death.

    (Staff)Shaman: Blessing of Life: Heals teammates of damage taken
    Hex of Darkness: Inflicts damage with darkness for a short time.
    Brutal Will: Increases attack power of allies, but under this buff they attack random enemys.
    Nobel Sacrifice: Heals all teammates, but kills her afterwards.

    (Axe)Viking: Freezing Axe: Uses Ice to stop enemys for a few turns.
    Deadly strike: Delivers a powerful blow from close range on the brink of death.

    (Hire)Monk: Protect: Increases physical defense and heals your Hero every turn.
    Holy guard: Protects teammates from magic.
    Awaken: Heals "Knocked out" status.
    Shield of Protection: Temporarily boots defense when injured and regenerates HP whenever they are hit.

    All of the above are D-Class and only your mercenarys may upgrade.
    1st Upgrade: Level 20 +50 Ashen Crystals.
    2nd Upgrade: Level 50 +100 Ashen Crystals.
    3rd Upgrade: Level 80 +20 Ashen Jewels.
    4th Upgrade(Final): Level 100 +50 Ashen Jewels.

    C-Classes: Beast Trainer, Witch, Princess, Prophet, Exorcist, Oracle, Inventor, Inventor, Cannoner, Lady Knight.

    All C-Class can be gained by special quests.

    1st Upgrade: Level 20 +50 "x" Crystals
    2nd Upgrade: Level 50 +100 "x" Crystals
    3rd Upgrade: Level 80 +20 "x" Jewels
    4th Upgrade(Final): Level 100 +50 "x" Jewels

    Replace the x with the class's upgrade crystal/jewel.
    Beast Trainer & Exorcist: Giant
    Witch, Princess, Oracle: Redemption
    Prophet & Lady Knight: Phoenix
    Inventor & Cannoner: Dragon

    The game takes place in Asia, Europe, and North Africa. There are many towns in the game that can be governed by a guild.

    Advantages:
    Gain Taxes paid by residents. Collected every month (One day in real life)
    Change service fees (Such as traveling price)
    Access to quick slots F4 & F5
    More taxes due to increased population
    Creation or destruction of buildings inside the town.

    Your guild must have 1000 Guild Points to apply to control a town. The highest bidder gains control.

    Guild points can be gained by:
    Staying logged in and gaining attendence points.
    Guild quests.

    Each day (Month in-game) you must pay a guild mantainence fee. This fee increases as your guild does.

    Other features in the game are Mentor and Apprentice and crafting

    The graphics in this game are beautiful! Even at the lowest quality it's still amazing. Areas like the Channel Tunnel are very well done.

    As a turnbased game, it differs from other online games. But the best I've seen out there so far. The staff is very helpful and active and try their best to keep the players happy.

    I thank you for taking time to read this. Our goal is 10,000 new players by the 28th. Even if you don't want to play, atleast check out the website and spread this around. If you don't like the look of the game, please give it a try.

    There are still Beta keys hanging around in diffrent places such as Fileplanet.

  • I havn't played many Turn-based MMOs but out of the few I have I'd say this is the best so far. For only being in Closed Beta, this game has taken me away from all other MMO games currently out.  I'm stunned by the graphics. This game has gotten me to stay up past 5:00 AM and beyond with pure addiction. Some personal things that I've already experienced are how the guilds in the game are set up. Your guild can actually level up, allowing more members and a higher ranking guild. I was shocked when I heard of that you may take citys and govern them and collect taxes and increase the population and build in it. Another feature I like is the arena. Not only can you just fight other people BUT BET ON OTHERS TOO! They put a betting system that works very well. The only problem I really have with the game is the lag. If they add another server and some people move to it might help alot. Other then that I see no problems with the game. If your looking for a game with many monsters, skills, allies, enemys, and just pure fun.  This is the perfect game for you! 

    Graphics: 5/5! (Note: I use a Geforce 4MX on a vista and the graphics are still amazing!)

    Gameplay: 5/5

    Lag Free: 2/5 (Note: Sometimes it's just impossible)

    Friendly community: 5/5 (Note: I've only met nice people on there. So far no problems with others.)

    If your looking for a new game to play, this is it! I urge you to play if your interested.
