Sheesh I'm old.

I LOVED those games too!! They were simple and elegant at the same time. Why can't someone develope another of this kind of game.
I'm inclined to agree with the posters who say that if games had harsh death penalties, people would quit. rather than roll another toon and start over. With regard to EVE (which I play), the game is successful even with a harsh death penalty. However, if they were ever to set up a PVE only server I suspect they would double or triple the number of subscriptions.

It's not really SoE's fault here. FLS has complete control over any aspect of the game, and SoE only handles billing and promotion.
Tend to agree with you. If the game was good, people would play it, it wouldn't matter if SOE published or marketed it. I played one month and was completely bored. Very dissapointing because I was looking forward to a break from beating up orcs and wargs.

It's Funcom.
They messed up the Launch and the Game.
Just like AO.
Don't expect them to do much better with AoC than they did with AO as regards getting it all up and running.
Gone and will stay gone.
All who continue with AoC, enjoy the game!
See you all again when WAR is up. ;)
Yeah, I learned my lesson about Funcom from AO and they're the main reason I won't buy this game. From some of the posts I'm reading, it looks like I made the right decision.

Mark, I'd seriously consider editing that reply. Moderators here are not very forgiving.
Yeah, it's a bit extreme but I was trying to put it in terms that the guy would understand. My apologies if it offended anyone.
