RvR quickly became scenario grinding. I limited the amount of time I spent grinding BGs in WoW to when I need gear. Occasionally, some pvp item is an actual upgrade for me. I can't stand sitting in the same bgs over and over, and scenarios were no different. It's a shame, as the RvR lakes were generally empty. If I was lucky, there might be a person or two of the opposite faction there, but generally I was the only one.
Worse yet is the balancing. There really needs to be solo balancing to some degree, even if it's of the paper scissors rock variety. Especially in a game released with missing classes. You cannot hide behind the tank if you don't have them in your scenarios. If you're a dark elf, you often only saw a tank if a black orc or chosen happened to be in the area.
The amount of CC in the game. I'd rather be stunlocked any day than be rooted or knocked back all match long. It looks like they're addressing at least the roots from what I've read of the recent patches. Not sure about the knockbacks.
It wasn't a PvE game, but what little PvE there was got boring fast. Leveling needed to go quicker. There needed to be enough pve content to level without having to depend on groups for public quests, or having to sit in scenario queues all day. PQs can be done solo if you just want to repeat stage 1 over and over. They're a neat idea, but it 's too bad they're sabotaged by the scenarios. It's just too efficient to level there instead of exploring the game world some.
The game world felt very tiny, though. And the way the zones were laid out, it didn't seem even remotely like an actual world to get out and explore. Then there's the buggy, and generally bad combat animations. I could go on, but I was generally just bored all the way through. It's a shame since there was so much potential for the game.

I tried my best to match the screenshots that were already in the screenshot folder from before. So, some of the angles and what not aren't going to match up perfectly. The screens of the river were particularly annoying to recapture. I took the originals as I running through the water, and I play with the camera controls constantly changing the views.
The lighting is going to be off due to the time of day in game I took them in. I'll try to get some screen shots under similar lighting conditions, but I'm not quite familiar with the game to know how day cycles work. WoW was easy to figure out since it matched the real world time.
You can still see that the lines are less jagged. Particularly on my sorcerer's hair. If you could see the original 1680x1050 pic, it's even more apparent there. (Any freebie sites let you host pictures that large?) Keep in mind, I didn't make any commentary on whether this was a big change or not. I just wanted to post some relatively similar pictures side by side for comparison.
I noticed more talking last night than during beta or the two days of early access I played. Frankly, after being subject to trade and general chat in WoW for years, I find the peace soothing. Most players I've come across are fairly mature, and don't become appendages upon grouping with them. We group so everyone can share a mob, for instance, and then drop and go our separate ways.
I'd probably have filled my friends list already if I added every person I had a pleasant encounter with so far.
I'm not sure what the long term will be like for this game, but I'm having a lot of fun in it for the short term. I'm probably going to be subscribing at least until WOTLK comes out. I've had my fill of the Burning Crusade and will be taking a break until then. If the game is still fun by then, I may just cancel my pre-order for WOTLK.
With the limited time I've spent playing WAR, it's by far the most of the various new MMOs I've tried in the last couple of years. And the first since subbing to WoW that I'm seriously considering making my new MMO home.
