So your opinion is "Do whatever you want to the game before release, as long as you tell us in advance it is ok?".
Sorry - but that is pretty dumb. They should tell us everything - they want us to hand over cash. Just because other companies fail at this, doesn't mean that EA/Mythic should get praised for doing what is expected.
It is a crock. To remove cities... they can always be added in later. Removing classes to be added at a later day or not is BS.
And as for what they told us - it is hypocritical!
"We care too much for it to detract from the warhammer world and blah blah blah", so what we did was remove melee dps classes from MELEE races and give high ELVES a tank but not HUMANS?! Yeh - that is so realistic. Dwarves, the meaty front lines get a tank, and two range classes!
Ok - so they told us in advance - they told us a load of bs to cover their tracks in advance is more accurate.
I'm only level 17 and i've heard it said a lot that once you get out of Tortage the whole game opens up and blah blah blah, but i was just wondering if the whole "night time / single player" concept was present throughout the game or if you left tortage and it became 100% public quests?
I'm just really enjoying the single player stuff and the stories and voice actors and am scared that it is going to suddenly stop and take my enjoyment with it.
I need to know!
Thanks
I'm sorry but I cannot go on with this stupidity, however I hope you've managed to get the oh not-so-subtle-point I tried to make.I happen to think that one of the very very rare things WoW managed to do really well and which is probably THE major reason for its success is its UI. I have no problem whatsoever with WAR taking what works perfectly and concentrating on innovating things that really need improving in today's MMOs.
That "other" game's designers thought pretty much as you do - not seeing the game past its UI and graphics. So what do you have? A "revolutionary" UI and controls that are actually inferior to the established standard and broken pretty much everything else.
Get your priorities straight and learn to see past the top layer of graphics on your screen.
I dislike people who go "its a wow clone" without knowledge - they look stupid and ignorant.
However - poeple who blindly defend something without knowledge - they also look stupid and ignorant.
I have played both and WAR is more like a wow 2, than a wow clone... but the similarities ingame are everywhere! It is more like wow than it isn't, but with some extras that you'd expect of any second coming. It includes all the natural progressions that you expect Blizzard would have included.
It is you who seems to be taking it at face value... you see a different race, a different story, some pvp advancements and you think its a completely different game.
I've played loads of mmos, name one and i've played it... i've never felt i was playing a preview of wow, or something that felt like wow 2. I do with WAR.
I loved wow, i love WAR... but lets not try to make it out to be something that it isn't, or deny it being what it is.
Hello.
When playing in mmorpg, you know how you can hold the right mouse and the character rotates on the spot with the movement of the mouse and effectively make A and D strafe.
Well, how can i do that without actually holding down the right button?
Is there some kind of setting option i need to be looking at?
Or maybe some kind of mouse setting?
It just feels a lot smoother movement to me - so if someone could help i'd really appreciate it!
Thanks
(sorry if i'm being a complete newbie asking :P)
WAR is like WoW2 - i know loads of people argue that it isn't, but those people clearly haven't played it. I don't mean it to be an insult - it is the reality... I played WoW and i will be playing WAR.
It looks like wow, it feels like wow... then it has some extra bits that you would expect of any second coming.
Therefore - that translates to the focus not being on the graphics... the focus is on the playability, the user interface, the smooth combat.
It will still end up looking smooth with shadows and reflection and partical effects but ultimately... it will look like a cartoon more than it will look like a real world.
