I agree with this. however I am sure GW does still have alot of pull.

I am fairly certain all three groups are wililng to cooperate since it would likely make a legal mess if EA tried to do something GW didn't like or if GW pulled the plug, or if Mythic did something... etc...

None of the companies want there to be a problem, so I believe that EA is willing to cede to GW's wishes. Not like EA is really ACHING for money...

Play nice to avoid the courts... it costs much less than just extending the development a few months.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • DirectX 10 in WAR?
    • LotRO supports DirectX 10, but not all of it is DirectX 10.

If I remember properly, it was DirectX 9 with DirectX 10 features

"including realistic real-time shadow rendering, upgraded water shaders, as well as particle effects and lightning for distant terrain"

      www.curse.com/articles/details/4771/

It was very nice, really pretty. Well done.

But not Fully DirectX 10 from the information I have found so far.

I need an MMO with gameplay instead of graphics... something that will last.

I hope WAR doesn't spend any time pre-launch on DX10, but (if possible) put it in a patch later.

Even just DX features like LotRO.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • which game had the worst release age of conan or vanguard ???
    • Vanguard had a worse release than AoC.

WoW had what I like to call: The Dark Winter.

In about January after the release, the games was great, more servers were up, and if you were willing to hit a lower pop server, you only had the inbalanced classes with no ORGANIZED PvP.

WoW did have a worse release than AoC, mainly because any/all MMO's should be able to learn from what happened to their predecessers.

Now they all get to learn from WoW, AoC, Tabula Rasa, LotRO...

      Age of Conan
    • omg they cut so much content, this game will have nothing in it
    • Hrm, the class cut hurt a bit...

But I really don't mind them pushing back 4 of the cities.

It's like releasing more Raid Content as time goes on, and it will allow people to understand the City concept without having to deal with 3 choices.

Think of how much fighting will be going on with just 2 cities.

Then when 4 are available, people will begin to think tactics, strategy, and the penalties of inadequate defense.

When 6 are there, then WAR will be at it's peak on the RvR. Cities changing hands and rewards flowing back and forth.

Then it will be time for them to introduce and expansion pack. Something new.

I really can't use a desktop card from nVidia though.  They are made solely to play games.  I also use CAD programs that just perform badly with desktop cards.  While Workstation cards cost a bunch and don't work well on games.  However, the silverlining is ATI's HD cards that are actually able to display polies pretty well mainly because of its stream processor design.

Either you, or I have been misinformed. The 4XXX series consumes a fair amount, but still less than the GTX 200 series. And for those workstation cards... I have an ATI firegl v3100, the first workstation card ATI made for PCI-e, and I'm able to play most of the latest games, it performs way out of it's league actually. I'm playing Warhammer Mark Of Chaos at an average quality, while it's minimum reqs are 256 MiB vRAM, my card only has 128. And that 128 MiB is still GDDR1, so... :)

Can't find an explanation for that though, but whatever it is, ATI performed a small miracle in that card. :) Can't say I play let's LOTRO at ultra high settings though, it goes to high (or even very high in some places), and I can still feel the difference in 3DS MAX (don't think it has special features for CAD yet though, it has a separate driver for 3DS MAX.). Yet I need a different card, I want better graphics! And the workstation cards are a bit of my price range...

here we go, I went searching for the power consumption charts from Tom's Hardware. I enjoy this site and frequently visit it for hardware info.
