  • *Recruitment Closing Today, August 24th*

    At the end of the day today, House Forsaken will be closing its doors to new recruits and will adopt an invite only policy.  It will be set to reopen a few weeks into release. 

    We have chosen to do this not only because we were getting 10-15 applicants a day and our forum posts jumped from 300 to nearly 700 in a 24 hour period, but because we want to make sure that:

    A) The current recruits get a fair month long trial as a recruit.

    B) Our guild community stays close and doesn't get a zerg mentality.

    C) Let the kiddie dust settle after release while we concentrate on the game.

    House Forsaken has been around for 12 years and the most important thing to us is our community.  Games come and go (WAR is No. 38 for us), but we would like membership to be impressed enough at our organization, ability, and other characteristics that they stick around. 

    MEMBERSHIP:

    HF has a total recruit and member list for WAR of 127 while HF overall is now at 366.  All 127 will be voted yes/no prior to the reopening of recruitment for our WAR guild, though recruitment for our other games still remain

    WAR PRE-PLANNING:

    We are currently on our last phase of pre-release planning.  For nearly two years we have planned for this game.  This includes gaining more fan site interviews than any other guild, sponsorship from Dark Star LLC, interactions on fan sites, RSS news feeds and guild meet and greets through TS and Vent as well as fan site supported events.

    Our last stage will include among other things, the official standard selection and tactics, alliance overview, server selection, recruit timetable, and the closing of recruitment.

    SERVER:

    We were on Barak Varr prior to preview weekend, but the queues were a killer for just a beta.  We moved to Mad Dog Pass after the wipe.  House Forsaken's official server will be determined prior to the head start and release though we have concluded that it will be Open RvR.

    On MDP we are the largest guild and after today will be the highest ranking.  Last night with the help of some smaller guilds, we took our first keep.

    OTHER:

    -All WAR gamers are welcome to visit our forums and play along side our guild.  It might be the only way to get an invite.

    HF UPDATE:

    Membership:

    House Forsaken currently has 71 members and recruits for the release of Warhammer Online. HF is at 315 total for all of its games. Though it seems like a lot, we have already denied close to 30 applicants due to not meeting HF's standards and we plan to continue making entry into the guild harder as time goes on.  Currently all recruits must wait until after the release to be voted on.  Once the game is live, look for a halt in recruitment until the dust settles.

    Communications:

    Though recruiting properly is on our mind constantly to uphold the community feel through our communications on all levels of game, web post, voice chat, and in person.

    -FORUMS - Our forums are getting more hits than they have in the last 13 years our guild has existed. Unbelievable to have 200+ posts daily and to reach 350 twice this week; pushing our guild forum statistics records. One other record includes logins where we have nearly 100 unique user logins every day.

    -VENTRILO - Though other games do use TS and Vent for chats, we have had some interesting Meet and Greets. We welcome anybody to attend whether you are planning on joining or would liek to see what it is like.

    -GATHERING - Ask both recruits and members that attended our annual upstate New York gathering and they will all say it was successful. They camped out under the stars, went water skiing and had a great time. We hope our West coast gathering will be similar.

    -BETA - They are playing. I can't say much else.

    Other HF NEWS:

    -SPONSORSHIP - House Forsaken would like to announce the new sponsorship by DarkStar Communications. We hope to take full advantage of it by opening up new game support on the FPS side of the house. Currently we have Team Fortress 2 up and running very well with nearly 30 members and recruits. Yesterday, the new 100 tick Counter-Strike: Source server went online. DarkStar will provide us with a Ventrilo server as well and has given us a coupon code to provide friends of the guild 10% off DSC services. Feel free to ask one of our guild officers for it.

    -KILL-HOUSE - House Forsaken is going to a whole new level. With the sponsorship, we are planning on intriducing a new web site in conjunction with our game servers to offer other clans and guilds community support as well. They will be given means to promote themselves within the KH community and be given other perks such as Guest Admin, Forums, Interviews/News features on the site, and share in the success that HF has had over the years and well into the future.

    HF Update

    House Forsaken is proud to tell the community that it is now over 300 members and recruits strong in multiple games. Forums are now receiving more posts on average a day than it has in two years; between 150 and 215 (the holy crap mark reached yesterday, July 17th).

    Warhammer Online:

    House Forsaken's beta members are out there playing and making sure non-beta members are jealous enough to punch younger siblings unconcious. The guild now has 67 members and recruits and will continue to grow up through release as other members jump on board and we see more prospects apply to join the guild.

    Annual Reunions:

    House Forsaken will have its annual East coast reunion in upstate New York this August. It is a chance for members and recruits alike to get to know one another prior to release of a game that will be HF's biggest supported title of the year.

    Soon after the East coast reunion comes the West coast annual reunion. Dates and place will be determined (the talk is Southern California or Las Vegas).

    Vent Meet and Greet:

    Come see what all the talk is about. House Forsaken will have two meet and greets in the upcoming weeks. The next one will be held Tuesday, July 22nd at 8pm on HF's Ventrilo server. Come talk to game staff, members, and other recruits. Get questions answered and see if House Forsaken is the right guild for you.

    Other HF Game titles:

    Team Fortress 2 has been an outstanding pre-Warhamemr Online game. Many WAR members and recruits are getting into league play and are using a member run server to build friendships with other members/recruits. It currently has 33 members and recruits.

    EvE Online members are starting to grow in numbers again. House Forsaken (12) and the Oblivion Corporation are proud to continue their partnership in the game and providing help for one another in completing missions.

    New Games Announced:

    Though Warhammer Online will be a huge hit, HF has announced the support for the following games as well; showing the ability to be a solid multigaming guild: CoD5, WoW, D3, SC2. The new games will allow the guild to continue with the FPS genre, continue the WoW guild in the expansion, go back to guild roots in the Diablo series in 1996, and return to RTS gaming with an old but familiar Starcraft series where HF first made their name as one of the top SC clans in the world, 1997.
