AIG, Enron, and Fanny Mae execs made more also.
So does that make them better people?
Why does unrestricted pvp make it good as a sandbox?
This game has been in the works since 2001, and it is just now going into closed beta?
Don't hold your breath on this one.

yeah, Brad had done such a great job with it too....
All the "fire Smedley" etc posts might be a bit more believable if not for the fact that it is always the same dozen or so posters that plaster that tired old refrain in every message thread that mentions SOE.
SOE bashing has been the "thing to do" for the past couple few years. I guess that proves you are part of the "in" crowd.
Here's a clue - despite all the bashing by the same core of people time after time, SOE managed to survive for longer than 98% of all other MMO publishers. It's also getting a bit tiresome, kind of like hearing the same old "talking points" from politicians.
The US Congress has a 12% approval rating, yet come election time over 90% of those same politicians will be voted back into office.
If you want to know where the problems started, look in the mirror. Until we start kicking failed politicians out of office, nothing will change.
Do you currently play a SOE published game?
