I do think they will release something... the question is what. I hope its what we all desire. But I may be wrong and they may, once again, not release it. LOL Anyway, I already said I would give them the last chance that will end at the end of the year. If they dont release something by then (even at least the beta), then DFO is totally dead to me.

I am familiar with the whole Dark'n'Light story as one of my friends bought it. It's a classic case of a potentially great game being released too early. I have also read statistics about the high failure rate of MMOs in development.
I was one of the victims of DnL hoax so I feel like I have to give my opinion about that. Cuz it was a hoax and nothing else. It had nothing to do with a too early release. It was a huge hoax. They even tried to keep charging people even after they cancelled their accounts. I can't be more clear than that. It was and it is a hoax.
DnL had NO potential. DnL's written features had potential. All the development of that features into a working program was just a hoax. In the end, written text is not big potential; written text are just promises.

And despite all that..still no word on an official release date.... the only piece of information that really matters at this point.
And beta date. For me beta is important. I know many people here are happy with the beta been doing by pro testers. But I want real customers to try the game.
I want people in this forum to get in and try it. Cuz their feeback will be similar to the rest of the players so if they find some feature to be bad, they will tell it to the devs.
I really want players to beta the game.
And as there will e always be beta leaks, the rest of us will start having a real data about how the game really is.
While it's obviously not good that they will cut content to reach the release date, I liek that Mythic informed us and not misslead us.
While Mythic hadnt been the perfect true teller, it surelly had done much better work than other companies in keeping their community well informed.
So I try to see the good side of all this. First, they told us and arent trying to hide it, as other companies had been doing. Second, this give them content to add after release that is not a new ToA expansion that will destroy the game! LOL
Edit: so, yes, I am still planning on playing it.
What characteristics of an MMORPG do you look at most?
