So each class is going to look the same, except different colored. A Brightwizard will look just like all the other BW's with the best gear, except there are three sets of gear each will want. PVE, PVP and Hybrid, but nothing unique and rare??
Career specific means class specific right? Seems really bland to me.
I'm not in beta, or following the enws too closely, but iirc they had a 'trophy' system which was basically slots purely for cosmetic stuff - skulls for orcs etc, to help characters look more individual.
Not a clue if it's making it to release though.

Hero classes are fresh and new, but they'll be owned by rogues like the rest of the classes, :)
If your going to abandon your Night Elf, I suggest rolling on Ravenholdt if your rerolling horde. Lotta fun, helpful people there, and horde dominates that battle group.
Unless he's a European player, in which case Ravenholdt is an RP server :p

WoW and WAR combined though will pretty much crush everything else.
Couldn't agree more. I don't think Mythic even thinks they can kill wow. Hell, I want to see WoW kill everquest and uo.
Still waiting for that to happen. Any day now. I think WAR will sit around 1 million plus active subs. Where it goes from there is up to Mythic.
If it gets a million subs, and keeps them for three months or so, it'll grow like WoW did. Friend-recruitment and a feeling that a community is alive and kicking will draw more in, as well as incouraging the money men to invest more in content development and expansion.
That's where so many MMO's are failing, and why (even though I haven't read much about WAR) they may have been right to cut some launch content - it seems far more important that what IS there is polished, smooth and engaging. If it can hook people for a few months, they'll wait for more content.
I'll buy it, see how the first month goes.
A balance of that and how I like WotLK will decide, but if I like both I'll just have 2 subs to be honest.
The "Don't need to loot" thing is the same as in EQ2 (and maybe others?). If you're used to WoW it's a little odd at first but after a while it's nice and perhaps even preferable. As for 100% drop rate... I'd rather have to collect 50 skulls with 100% droprate than 5 skulls with 10% droprate, if I'm honest...
(all right, so I'm levelling a horde alt for fun in WoW, and a couple of nights ago it took me 2 hours of killing the same mobs over and over to get ONE bloody quest drop.... so maybe I'm biased right now ^^ )
What is your favourite Rogue archetype class in Age of Conan?
