    • Is the time of Sci-Fi coming upon us?
    • These aren't exactly MMO's, but they've caught my sci-fi eye none the less.

Space Siege is coming out real soon, looks awesome. It's basically Dungeon Siege, but in space. (duh) I've watched a few videos and read everything I can find on it and I'll be buying it when it hits the shelves I'm fairly certain.

Next up is the almighty Spore. Probably the single most anticipated game ever to come from Will Wright. It's sorta sci-fi'ish. Regardless of any other circumstances I WILL be buying it.

After that is Fallout 3. I don't really have much faith in Bethesda, I mean basically from what I've seen they've just taken the same engine that was used for Oblivion and changed the graphics around. I can't say that for 100% certainty, but that's what it looks like to me. I'll have to steal it from a  torrent first to see if it's worth a crap, if it's good I'll buy it for sure. I'll risk buying Space Siege and Spore without a trial, but not Fallout 3, I have ZERO faith in Bethesda.

I was really looking forward to Huxley, until I found out it was just a fragfest FPS. If I wanted brainless run and gun I'd just go play Duke Nukem or some stupid shit like that.

I really have no comment on the games other folks have listed other than I'll wait and see. I've looked that the individual websites and really there isn't enough information on any other them to make a judgement on whether they're gonna be any fun or not.

Hell I'll probably play them all at least for a short while just because theirs no god damned elfs and shit in them.

      City of Villains
    • Your first MMORPG?
    • UO was my first, played up to a few months after the Blackthorne's Revenge expansion.

Then went to AO, but it was so boring, my first introduction to grinding and I disliked it much.

(a few no name MMO's here, like Dark Seas of Space, and Fighting Fury that no longer exist today)

Droid Arena was an MMO, but it wasn't RPG and it was a browser game, it was cool till they added in a bunch of borked crap and started stealing ideas from players without acknowledging them.

      (beta'd SWG here)

Then I found my only true MMO love, Earth and Beyond. I beta'd and then immediately rushed out and bought the game at release. My entire family played it in shifts.  Unfortunately some personal issues made us stop playing and never got back to it before it was shut down by EAxis.

From there I went to SWG until it got NGE'd

(add in a few no name MMOs, mostly crappy asian grinders here, and a couple like Auto Assault that no longer exists)

      World of Warcraft goes here

      City of Heros/Villians

And finally I've worked my way through all the F2P and they all suck.

I keep track of the EnB emu faithfully, unfortunately it won't run (even in its skeleton form) on my computer. To new I guess.

    • Made by EA...will this hurt WAR?
    • Why would they put securom in a MMO? Let's see, I've yet to find a MMO that must have a disc in a drive, or that needs to detect drive emulators,,,,I dunno.

Anyway, EA being a part of the development will affect my decision about this game. No matter what anyone says, EAxis WILL put their filthy mits all over this game before it's all said and done.

I also don't give Mythic long before Eaxis does to them what they did to Westwood .

((edit--after doing a quick google about securom and possible lawsuits, all the ones I read are frivolous at best, and will be beat down just like they always have and I'm sure there will be urban legends that such and such won millions but it won't be proven and will be BS--The only one that is even remotely viable was the one that installed from music cds(bmg?) onto computers a few years back and from what I read, it's settled.))

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • uhh... trial yet?
    • There are buddy trial keys  available here http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/157609

Wow low and behold it's the very first thead on this forum and you couldn't of missed it if you had bothered to read.

Anyway, a few months back I dropped my email on the thread and had a buddy key pm'd to me in 2 days. Many folks get keys, they just don't edit their posts to show so it appears like very few get one. Follow the directions and play the game

Personally I found it to be to much like WoW, just with better graphics.

And no you don't need to buy the damn game unless you plan on playing past the free trial. Geeze if you don't know something, then don't respond.
