Anything is better than that statement.  I was pretty floored when I watched him say that at the forum.

I'm beginning to see why Bush got nearly enough votes to win the presidency. If this answer isn't sound to you, then you would like a lawyer to define biological and theological terms. This is not Obama's position. There are plenty of biologists and theologians out there to define circumstances in their respective fields. It seems that you would like to apply this answer to a different question, such as:

Rick Warren: "Have you ever voted to limit or reduce abortions?"

Barack Obama: "I am in favor, for example, of limits on late term abortions, if there is an exception for the mother's health. Now, from the perspective of those who are pro-life, I think they would consider that inadequate, and I respect their views. One of the things I've always said is, on this particular issue, if you believe that life begins at conception, and you are consistent in that belief, then I can't argue with you on that, because that is a core issue of faith for you."

Basically, Obama has some education in the scientific and theological fields, but neither are learned enough to try and define the point at which human life is established. This is an issue that each person has to define on their own.

Thank you for further supporting my post.  Though I do not think you realize that you were.  He can answer questions on abortion.  So what is so hard about answering this one.  I am not harping on the man because he supports abortion.

Some people like yourself simply will not get why that remark erks me so much.  Other's will get it and simply don't care.  It does not matter to me honestly if you get why that remark bothers me so much,  though I will try to explain why because your either down playing it's meaning or you do not get what it means.

My point is: In the military "above my pay grade" means it is not for him to worry about.  It is saying he is not the decision maker.

So if he can not make judgement calls about his own views, then why should he be in the #1 seat?  How is he going to make a decision regarding which people to put into seats in other places in the government?  How is he going to know which bill to veto or help pass if he doe's not know his own moral grounding?  I guess he will just be the front man while the power lies with in someone else's hands?  Awesome!  So what, is he going to have Nancy telling him what to do?

You bring up his education as a defense for this comment, why?  It surely is not helping to defend him.  You ask any person on this forum the same question he was asked and I guarantee not 1 of them will say it is above my pay grade.  Then ask them after you get an answer on their view of the question what type of education they have.

I look forward to the debates as well.  One statement from Obama like this and McCain will be like a kid in a candy store.

I like your Bush comments by the way Good job!

    • Star Trek - Your Favorite Series?
    • I like everything Star Trek.

I do not hold DS9,TNG, Voyager any higher than the other. If its on tv I am probably watching them.

The original, ehh... I loved it when I was a kid. But I am not really into it now. If I am up early in the morning I will probably watch it since its either that or the news and everything else is paid programing.

Enterprise, the original showing was well done. The cliff hangers were nuts. I never got pissed off at a TV show for leaving it's audience hanging like Enterprise did until Enterprise. I also accepted it as a fresh start for the franchise that is probably why I did not have to many issues with it. I am going to look at the new movie with the same frame of mind. As far as reruns Enterprise is pretty limited with what they can run without leaving someone baffled asking themselves wtf is going on.

Battlestar Galactica and its last episode had a pretty dam good cliff hanger as well.
