Overall I found the only reason I couldn't get myself to continue playing VG was simply the lack of a playerbase for an otherwise amazing game. I wasn't even bothered so much by the bugs in the game at launch to tell you the truth. They were expected, as every MMO has them.
With that said, I recently found copies of VG on Amazon for under $10, and have ordered 4 copies for me and 3 friends to play the game together.
As stated, pretty much any ska band.
As an alternative, Sonic Boom Six, a band from somewheres in the UK is an awesome Reggae/Punk/Ska/Hip-Hop combo with some pretty sweet horn action in a lot of their songs.
Wait a second... Has there ever been an MMO that DIDN'T have good random item drops?
I doubt they'll do any of this. Otherwise there would've been an oldschool SWG server up long ago.
Generally as long as I have at least SOME fun with it, I'd consider it worth the purchase. There have been few MMOs that kept me for over that first months subscription... I played The Realm for 3 years, AO for about a year, and WoW off and on for 2 years.
The only time I'll consider a game not worth the purchase is when I install it and find a huge steaming pile of shit installed on my PC.
