Well guess what you do not know will not hurt you. It is too bad that with so many people not liking the game an Adult can actually whine and Complain and point fingers so much. I am still playing the Game, they have fixed some of the memory Leaks and unlike the 1000 that used the game mechanics to exploit to 80 within a week and then get banned and come to this Board to rag about how they got their feelings hurt is funny. I have been reading the post from Just you alone ,and I swear I think sombody got your panties while you were sleeping.

I can understand the disappointment about the game that you could not play  I played SWG, but that is something that none of us could change. They are supposed to be patching out the Memory leak this coming week and DX10 was announced somewhere in the next 4 weeks.

The Speculation about the "numbers" on your part id definately wrong, I have made yet another character to play and there are a lot of players in the starting Tortage area, You leaving just cleared up the chat windows from whining.

I have been testing the Game on my 3 machines here at home, and the only time I have patcher issues, memory leaks or any graphical errors is from a "Dupe" of windows Xp or vista. They have posted fixes for a lot of the problems on the forums and if you can get past the whiners post they do work. If you have pirated software like OS's then the problem does show because windows cannot recieve the updates that solve the issue.

I have grown to love this game and the announcment of stocks of that small ammount being sold and getting you a hard on amuses me even more. There are a lot of good things to come from what I am seeing and hearing and I for one will stick with them until they finish.

Each individual has an option to play or not to play any game that is made, but to run and whine when you get banned, caught cheating, or just could not get that POS machine to run it is so very very ignorant.

    • Fact: 70% of players unhappy with AoC

In that poll, 80% of respondents said that they were happy.

In the first sentence of your post, you said that just under 70% ... are unhappy or not pleased with AoC in its current state.  That statement is accurate though does not match the "fact" you purport in the title.

I'm still debating whether to purchase / play AoC and have waded through the posts here at mmorpg.com about it.  I found the data in the poll somewhat interesting in that of those that reported that they were not pleased with the game's current state (n=767 at the time that I'm looking at the results), 82% (630 of the 767) *still* report that they are "happy".  It makes me speculate that the game's current state must not consist of truly "game-breaking" bugs (at least for the content that a majority of players have encountered).

Moderately interesting data, but not enough to get me off the fence either way.

But a thoroughly misleading title to your post.  Shame on you.

I for one have played since Beta, and watched it come a long way. I run 2x 8800GT Sli w/ 4 gig of SLI OCZ ram and a Core2 Duo 2.4, and I have absolutly no Disconnects, very little lag unless in a very large battle then I get about 35FPS.

I use Split Frame Rendering2(Nvidia Control Panel-Global) and a few other tweaks for video and the SLI does make a difference if you know how to build a machine. Swap File Turned off Completely, I run 32Bit XP and this way I have no lag issues with my Hard drive cacheing that swap file.

There are some quest that seem bored to some and fine to others.  The people that have soo many problems, are most likely going to leave, but hey I am staying until it is done ,then pawn all the noobs coming back, lol.

I really beleive it is about the players playstyle. So far what I have seen, was Guilds that came in the game on EA- ,Used everything they could "manipulate" to power level, then sit back and complain about nothing to do because a lot of the higher end stuff is still being tweaked and added in patches. And it does get better every patch thus far, at least for me.

If you like to Quest, Loot, Sell, And Travel this game has a Great Storyline. The naysayers are always all over every game released, you know the rule, You can't please all the people all the time. Seems there are plenty of people like myself, that enjoy this game and are really looking foward to the future content they talked about adding.

I am no fanboi, I am just pleased that the game is out, and I can play something new with unique combat and adventures to explore. I have played every game on the market I bet since 89, From Spear Of Destiny to Star Wars Galaxies, and this game by far is better on release than most of the ones I have played.

Give it a try, Don't like it, You don't have to play. It's like me with a Closet , literally full of boxes, of games from over the years, a game is a game. I bet if Kids did not like a game on a Xbox, they would get another. Same thing for us ,"Adults" who like our toys just a little more advanced, Our Pc's" But we can afford to build the "Correct ones" not buy some propriatary machine.

    • Idea (Under Construction)

With mmo's today you either have the items in your inventory to build what you want or you dont, sure you can sometimes change its color but thats splitting hairs. Single player games have only started doing this, upcoming games like Spore and LittleBigPlanet (PS3), which allow you unpresidented customizability and further allow you to share what you've made the community, have become popular due to these feature.

My idea is to incorporate this into mmo's, mainly using physics. The idea is a large ship of people escaping annilation at the hands of some enemy manage to leave the galaxy/solar system using a wormhole or something and crashland on a planet that was once home to a once powerful ancient race of people who are now dead, leaving old buildings and crashed ships are scattered around the planet.

With all this instead of just walking in the buildings and shooting stuff, you can repair the buildings/ships with parts you scavenge from around the planet, reactivating power-grids, weapon-grids, sensors, motors, lights, robots, etc. Not only that but you can make your own combinations of traps/weapons using the motors, sharp objects, ropes, sensors, guns, wires, and all kinds of stuff you have fixed, moving them around, making deadly traps or a rube goldberg type machine if you want. The number of inventions one could make are endless, and things you make can be auctionable to other players in game.

To spice it up a little a small portion of the enemy force that orignally made you leave your home planet in the first place have followed you and crashed on the same planet, which become the things you kill with the contraptions you make apart from the native electricity eating beasts.

It's a series of ideas underconstruction, but i think its something. Any suggestions or comments?

SWG Pre-CU, is what you are describing. Without the bugs of course. I really miss the versitality of that MMO. You make it, I will pay/play it. Get the Engine from SWG and remake the MMO of your life with it, It does not have to be Star Wars based, but something Sci-Fi like you are describing would be wonderful.
