and overall, is this game good ? and is it worth playing.  i have only seen some few movies on youtube, and its looks pretty cool.. i just wanna here what u guys thinks about it, and maybe you could give me some good reasons to buy the game :)

( ps: im from denmark, thats why i dont spel so good :)

As a new player you wont shoot to the top in one week, but it doesn't take nearly as long to level to the top as some popular MMOs.

The community is hands down one of the best you will find when it comes to MMOs (well I've only played like 8 of them, but thus far none really compare to DDO).  Very mature, very helpful, and fun to play with.

Just admit it was a dumb DDO bashing comment already and be done with it.

I stopped playing WoW for various reasons. 1) They kept messing with my characters, giving evidence to the theory that they don't know what they are doing in the first place when designing classes and abilities. But the more important reason was 2) that there are limited group quests that have any meaning, and a limited amount of people who like to group who don't require you to be in a hardcore guild. I was bored. Soloing is boring. On my last day, I even ganked lowbies. I never did that before. In DDO, people HAVE to quest with at least one other person, for the most part. Forced grouping is bad? Nah.

Played some LOTRO. Mostly the same thing. People like to solo a lot.

Now, WoW has been reducing or eliminating the requirements for big quests and lowering the amount of people needed. For those who like to do group quests but don't have a second job in a hardcore guild, this may become interesting.

Wow i just couldn't overlook this one.

You think balancing in WoW means the devs don't know what they are doing, but you are here defending DDO?  Just take a moment and thing about the radical changes this game has undergone.  Are you willing to make the argument that DDO developers also don't know what they are doing? (I happen to agree, but I'd just like to hear it from you)

Then you make the argument that a game where you have the choice of running in a group or running solo is somehow naturally inferior to a game that requires you to play in a group.  This just doesn't even make sense to me - it seems pretty natural that a game people pay to play should have options for people who want different things out of the game (or even people who want different things at different times).

    • No, my comment was just letting the OP know how limiting DDO is compared to the game he came from.   It wasn't random DDO bashing or a scotish fallacy or whatever.

Understandable - but in DDO the 'action' is too often irrelvant.  The program simply decides based on what you where or what you brought with you - not on what you do or don't do in way, way, way too many cases.

Maybe you can give me an example of an MMO that does what you are talking about so that I can better understand.
