    • The New MMO ( what do we need ) ?
    • For the areas in which you did not agree with FFXI;

1- Your idea on unlocking further specialized jobs with your current job at 75 would be doable... on a non-online game. The jobs already incorporated are already specialized enough, to further it would just drag on the game. Personnally, FFXI is good the way it is for it's near at is end, it ain't gonna live forever.

      2- True, totally true.

3- That was the only way at the time to further stop RMTs from camping for good equipment. I think it was a fair judgement to put some item drops on NM's as R/E.

4- I also wished they'd drop the items needed for crafting sooner, but then that would make the game WoW.

5- Fighting crabs & worms all the time was boring.. I felt like I was getting crabs in my pubes and worms in my stomach myself..

6- I don't believe you're being realistic to the game. Books? naw. Flails? maybe, but with a % of recoil damage. Knight Swords? already have that, the swords that only WAR/PLD/RDM/SAM can use. Magic Guns? got that. Gunblade? Never in FFXI. Magic balls? Already got em in the ammo slot. Carpet? Well, didn't know we were talking about Aladdin. lol

7- Again, not realistic, I don't even think you thought this through pointing out this 'area that need improvement'. Only a Geomancer and a Chemist would work in FFXI out of all the ones you mentioned, the others are just, well, already in it. Squire? well it would be like a lesser version of a WAR, MNK or THF... with stats below a regular DD job, with no abilities or skills what so ever. Holy Knight? PLD is exactly that, those holy Sword techinques in FFT? they're WS'. Oracle? BLM & RDM have enfeeble spells, hell WHM has it too. No need for Oracle. Time Mage? WHM and RDM have Haste and Slow. Again, no need.  Geomancer could work, depending on the terrain of your zone or where exactly you're standing and/or where your target is standing. Chemist, I would imagine it being like NIN and RNG. RNG being  a powerful DD that costs money, NIN a powerful tank or DD that cost money. Chemist would be like a Healer or nuker with created items, but would need to keep buying potions and stuff, like NIN buy tools and RNG buy arrows.

8- They would also need a little compass in the top corner of our screen... To make it look more like WoW... something as FFXI fans definitely don't want. :D

    • FF needs a new MMO
    • A Dragon Quest Online game I would definitely go for that, I may sound like such a tool saying this but I would play Dragon Quest Online just because it has Dragon Quest in the title. I love DQ, played 1,2,3, playing 7, playing 8, waiting for 4, 5, 6 to re-release in english for the DS..

I wonder if SE will allow the subjob in a Dragon Quest MMORPG... I believe they will because in #3 and #7 you could make a character master a class and then switch to another, yet keep every skills/spells you learned from your previous class, now that would just upset the balance in a game since hardcore gamers would have an advantage being having more time, therefore having been able to master all of the jobs faster. You would have a Magic-user with ultimate hard-hitting attacks or a Fighter with ultimate magic attacks. ... Oh before I would forget, you would also keep some stat build from your previous class too, I remember one time on DQ7 that I had one of my characters as a Warrior then Fighter then Dragoon(all pure fighting classes) and then I switched him to a Mage or a Cleric.. I then noticed that he would still do more melee damage have more defense and more HP than all of the other characters despite being a magic-user with supposed poor attack damage, poor defense and low HP.. Although it was a great way to not having to worry about your magic-users dying in one shot, but it wouldn't sit well in a MMORPG... everyone would have the same high stats, same skills/magic regardless of their class.

There are some classes that I would question if they would work out in a MMORPG.

Firstly the Sage, it's similar to a Red Mage in FF that uses 'some' of the black and white magics from both Black Mage and White Mage jobs, and also uses some of the better equipment that a Warrior or a Thief would use.. But in DQ, a Sage typically has ALL of the curative/supportive(white magic) spells and attack(Black Magic) spells and beyond!, like transforming into a Dragon(in DQ3), oh and Sages have the same poor STR/VIT/HP stats as a basic Mage/Cleric would have and doesn't use some of the heavier equipment like a Red Mage does. My point being, everyone that prefer being a magic-user, whether healer or magic dmg dealer, would want to be a Sage, because the Sage would eventually make Mage, Cleric utterly useless once everyone would be able to use Sage.

Second, the GodHand. If any of you have played Dragon Quest 7 thoroughly  to the end, you all know that GodHand class is the best melee class for any character, has the highest stats for taking dmg and dealing dmg, as well as the best attack skills. Like the Sage, GodHand after when everyone would be able to use this class if it were to be incorporated into a Dragon Quest MMORPG, would make all of the other melee/tank classes useless.

Third, the Jester(or Goof-off). The Jester in DQ is just a class that has enormous amounts of Luck, resulting in alot of critical attacks, but that would seem so useless since in DQ, Jester is also a class that you can't control. They just attack whichever monster they feel like, or just goof-off and do nothing, or even worse, hurt themselves(emo much?) by their sheer stupidity(emo!) and clumsiness(can you tell I don't like emos? lol)! Although it would be funny to see your own character make a fool or him/herself in 3D in front of your party during battle... The end-result would not be funny one bit if your Jester character would be the sole cause of the party's death. Case-closed!

And lastly(if that's even a word), the Hero! Already just by saying Hero, everyone would want to be this class, I mean everyone wants to be a Hero in an RPG, espcially in Dragon Quest! Not that this would be a big problem if there were to be a Dragon Quest MMORPG. A Hero in DQ is THE class to pick in terms of overall effectiveness. In theory if this class were to be in a MMORPG according to it's abilities in DQ series, it could be a tank with high HP and defense, a dmg dealer with high attack power and it's high LUCK(for crits), a nuker with it's high enough intelligence and huge mana(but maybe not as much as a Summoner or Sage) and it could be a main healer/support with it's wide range of healing and group healing spells. So basically a Hero would pwn any other class in any role it chooses... and wouldn't even need to be in a party to survive an entire journey... believe me I've tried and succeeded in beating Dragon Quest 3 with only the Hero in my party and not even bothering the recruit other characters just for the heck of it. But I guess Hero COULD be incorporated into an MMORPG, I've always pictured it to be a Red Mage, but a SUPER Red Mage that could use all weapons/armor and learned mostly all of the better spells and had high rating on all stats. If SE could nerf the Hero class a little, it would definitely be the equivalent of a Red Mage and be able to partake in a Dragon Quest MMORPG without upsetting a balance.

I hope this post has been of some relevance and hope that some people have enjoyed reading it. :)  Again, I would jump at the idea right away for a Dragon Quest MMORPG. :D

    • Boobs! (It's a related topic trust me!)
    • I feel like such a tool falling for something so ridiculous... but...

Anyone else think it's working that all MMORPG ads entice's you to download and play their game because they have a pretty cartoon female warrior/ninja/healer/witch in their ad? You know the ones with the tight waist, nice legs, pretty face, big, soft looking boobs, all being covered with full body armor but exposes the neck, above the chest, the thighs, you know, places that would make a guy go crazy..

Was wondering if this dirty(but valid and legal) advertisement move has worked on some people.

lol... feel free to call me a pervert or whatever

    • Rohan Online!
    • I recommend Rohan Online! It's a neat F2P MMORPG, brand new MMORPG(to the North American community), nice graphics, decent music for a F2P game, few classes but very well defined in their role and balanced,. A neat and simple crafting system where you recycle your old weapons and armor into better looking and more efficient and more powerful weapons and armor. Fishing system is sort of a gamble, but rewarding. You take old weapons and armor as bait, fish, reel in a catch and open the fish you've caught and hope that the wheel of fortune will land on something better than what you used as bait.

So basically no item is wasted space, every item in the game as a significant purpose. The game kinda works like WoW, but it doesn't feel like WoW. I don't think this game is listed on this website, but try it out!

    • Not only the gameplay, but the music was very good in FFXI, every tune was perfectly matched with the scenery and/or event.

While on the airship, you would have that nice elevator-ish music, in promyvion you would have that really dark, empty feeling music, making you expecting to battle some big, ugly and devastating monster. As for the regions that have those Jungles near Kazham, it had very nice african sounding music.

The battle music seemed like you were really in a fight, whereas WoW, to me, didn't seem to have a difference in music whether you were in a fight or not. ...

Oh just remembered that music was non-existant in a few zones, it would only be the wind. Which was ok for me, because let's be real, we never ever explored those areas, only passed through when we needed to with the chocobo. lol It was sort of a break for me from the game's music. I really hate comparing stuff to WoW, but it's just THE game to be bashing hehehe, anyhow I thought it's game music was rather annoying to be honest.

I really hope Aion will deliver that perfect balance of music where it's not too annoying and happy, but more realistic. :)
