Ok they don't say they nerfed them, they just say shields were bugged before and reducing damage too much.
Yep leach life and drain life still work normally, though unlike you I'm not dying faster still the same IMO.
Teala some of these notes are wrong. I suggest updating them every once in a while or only post the ones yourself are sure of!

Getting in a guild, playing and grouping with RL friends and guild members is the most important thing. This is where you get your fun. This is true for all MMOs.
Though I must admit that ATM AoC's social aspects arent the best and the UI doesn't help. However these will come with time, if you're willing to stick with the game, if not I suggest trying it in a few months and see how it pans out.
