Well anyone that says IO's aren't any good til 50 obviously either (1) hasn't played since Issue 9 or (2) didn't bother with them. Besides earning the various badges for crafting them, some of the set bonuses are quite nice at lower levels.
Not to mention certain IO's are actually better at a lower level than at 50. Example: some IO's give a flat bonus to something, such as 5% chance to build up each time that power is used. Now if you exemplar down to more than 3 levels below the level of that IO... it doesn't work. So if I had all 50 IO's some would stop working if I exemplared lower than 47.
Missions are heavily story based. I think some people don't bother to read why they are doing what they are doing. Plus if you think it's repetative, go play EQ1 and camp raster for the monk epic. You don't like cave missions, then don't pick them. Cimerora, RWZ, Flashback missions were all added in the last 3 patches. Would take a long time to work through all of them before they started getting "repetative".
Ok Hhussk I just have to comment on your point #2.
The main reason they don't give much thought to pvp ... is the players aren't that interested. When polled there are more players that want coop zones than pvp zones. Dual Blades and Willpower powersets were added based off of player feedback. If the community was screaming for pvp, I have no doubt they'd add more zones or more pvp features.
Remember well before CoV they added the Arena to give the game some pvp. It was never used very much, at least on my server Infinity. If pvp was so hotly in demand, the Arena would of been mass crowded from day one. Now I do see a lot of action in Sirens Call, again on my server it seems to be the most popular pvp zone.

Yeah, I thought the shaman changes were interesting. Give them a polymorph spell and combine a handful of their totems so that one totem does multiple things. Wonder what the shaman community thinks about that.
the CC is awesome. we should have that already.
The totems are a nice change but, honestly, any shaman worth his/her copper is able to manage totems and know what/where/when to drop them.
Well said I must say! If they were just adding a poly-like spell (hex) then it would be fine with me. As a bit of a lore-junkie it irks me that they are "combining" totems without any regard as to a lore-reason why. Blood elves going horde mad no sense and now with have these absurd changes to go with our Not-So-Heroic Hero Class.
Someone also pointed out that Xfire may be turned off when playing AoC due to the game's high system requirements. As I said before, I don't use it so my 1 sub isn't being counted.
I did notice that the powergamers that raced to 80 are screaming about how bored they are. Not just on this site, but on others as well. I have zero sympathy for these people. Part of the fun, to me at least, in an MMO is the journey through the game. I started with a Necro (mage archtype) got him out of Tortage and did a few quests in Stygia. Then I made a cimmerian Barbarian and did some cimmerian quests. Went to an aquilonian Dark Templar 3rd time around and explored that area too. I'll admit I'm an explorer type player, I enjoy seeing the sights more than outleveling everyone around me.
Blizzard said Hero Classes and "meaningful" pvp would be in at release too. What a company says will be in a game isn't always what makes it to the final product. Why they do this could be any number of reasons, maybe harder to code than they thought or cost prohibitive.
As I've said before, I think some people had too high expectations for this game. It's stable, no servers crashing and no game breaking bugs that I have found. Sure, I've found a few bugs but they were rather minor (clipping through terrain). I came in with a bit more realistic expectations. My thing was did it stay true to the Conan books (not the movie) and I think it has done that.
